Chris Owings SS | LAD
Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Doubles twice, steals base in loss
Owings went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, an RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Cardinals.
The doubles were Owings' 19th and 20th of the season, putting him seven shy of matching the career-best mark he established in 2015. Owings' increased power has helped fuel his breakout season, and fortunately for fantasy owners, it hasn't resulted in him sacrificing productivity on the basepaths. He's gone 11-for-13 on stolen-base attempts, putting him on track for his second straight 20-steal campaign.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Dodgers' Corey Seager: Expects to return before Saturday
Manager Dave Roberts said Seager (hamstring) will likely play Friday against the Padres if he isn't able to return for Thursday's series finale against the Angels, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Seager has missed five straight games while dealing with a Grade 1 hamstring strain, but he appears to be on the verge of a return. The 23-year-old said he was able to run and swing a bat as close to 100 percent as possible before Wednesday's game, according to J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News, so look for him to be back in the starting lineup Thursday or Friday.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Dodgers' Corey Seager: Held out Wednesday
Seager (hamstring) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
Seager is set to miss his fifth straight game as he continues to work back from a Grade 1 hamstring strain. The 23-year-old was apparently available off the bench Tuesday night, so he'll likely be an option to hit again Wednesday if needed, but the Dodgers will give him an extra day on the bench to rest his ailing hammy. Seager remains hopeful he'll be back at shortstop for Thursday's series finale.

Nick Ahmed SS | TEX
Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Will miss 6-to-8 weeks
Ahmed (hand) had three pins placed in his hand Wednesday, and will miss 6-to-8 weeks.
This moved Ahmed's expected return date into mid-August after the infielder suffered a small fracture in his right hand during Tuesday's game. Ahmed was struck by a pitch and he will have an extended absence away from the field while he recovers. The team called up shortstop Ketel Marte from Triple-A Reno to provide infield depth for the time being. There will likely be a clear timetable for his return by the end of the All-Star break.

Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU
Cardinals' Aledmys Diaz: Optioned to Triple-A Memphis
Diaz was sent down by the Cardinals on Wednesday, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
Diaz started the past 13 games before hitting the bench for Tuesday's contest. After another day out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest, the team announced that Diaz would be optioned to Triple-A Memphis with Alex Mejia taking his place on the big-league team. Thus far in 2017, Diaz is hitting .260/.293/.396 with seven home runs and 20 RBI. Even though he has been struggling, this move comes as a surprise, but the 26-year-old will likely be back with the team in the near future after getting reps at Memphis.

Allen Cordoba SS | CIN
Padres' Allen Cordoba: Remains out Wednesday
Cordoba (hand) is not in Wednesday's lineup against the Braves.
Cordoba came in as a pinch hitter during Tuesday's contest, going 0-for-1 with a strikeout. The 21-year-old left Sunday's game after getting struck in the left wrist during an at-bat, and had the day off Tuesday following the team's off day. He is likely available to pinch hit yet again for Wednesday's affair.

Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU
Cardinals' Aledmys Diaz: Out of lineup again Wednesday
Diaz is not in Wednesday's lineup, MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports.
Diaz will sit for the second straight outing after getting starts in the 13 previous games. There doesn't appear to be an injury, but Paul DeJong is once again sliding over to short while Greg Garcia mans the keystone.

Nick Ahmed SS | TEX
Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Placed on disabled list Wednesday
Ahmed (hand) was officially put on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday.
Ahmed suffered a small fracture in his right hand when he was hit by a pitch during Tuesday's contest. It is unclear how much time the infielder will miss, but it's likely that he won't be ready to come back until after the All-Star break. In his place, the Diamondbacks called up Ketel Marte from Triple-A Reno.

Brandon Crawford SS | STL
Giants' Brandon Crawford: Out of lineup Wednesday
Crawford is not in the lineup against the Rockies on Wednesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Crawford will get his first day off since June 17 following Tuesday's 14-inning game against Colorado. The shortstop has recorded one hit in each of the past four contests and is currently hitting .238/.281/.379 with six home runs and 37 RBI on the year.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Dodgers' Corey Seager: Hopeful to play Wednesday or Thursday
Seager (hamstring) is hopeful to return to the field before the end of the series with the Angels, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Seager has missed the past four games with a Grade 1 hamstring strain that he suffered during last Friday's affair. It appears as though Seager was available to pinch hit off the bench during Tuesday's contest, and although he did not do so, that should come as a good sign concerning the severity of his injury. There's a possibility that Seager will be in the lineup for Wednesday's game, but he should be considered day-to-day as the Dodgers aren't going to force him back until he is completely ready.
