  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Collects three hits, home run Monday

Baez went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's loss to the Giants.

Baez started at second and batted eighth, as Ben Zobrist got the start in left field. While Baez doesn't have an everyday position, he plays (and produces) enough to be a valuable fantasy commodity.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Rockies' Trevor Story: Activation coming soon

Story (shoulder) will likely be activated from the disabled list during the Rockies' four-game series with the Phillies this week, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Manager Bud Black refused to cite a specific activation date, but he made it clear in a Riddler-esque statement that Story will be activated in the City of Brotherly Love. "Story loves the Liberty Bell," Black said. "He loves Ben Franklin. He might not love it all four days. But he loves it." More information on this front should become available in the coming days. Prior to getting injured, the young shortstop batted just .180 with 48 strikeouts in 33 games, although he did bash six home runs and six doubles in that span and has looked impressive at the plate during his rehab assignment. Once he returns to action, he'll likely supplant Pat Valaika and Alexi Amarista for regular playing time at shortstop.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Cardinals' Aledmys Diaz: Smacks pair of doubles, scores thrice Sunday

Diaz went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk and three runs in Sunday's 8-3 win over the Giants.

Diaz is enjoying a resurgent month at the plate in May after slashing just .217/.234/.391 in April. Factoring in Sunday's multi-hit effort -- his eighth this month -- he's now slashing .315/.354/.411 with four doubles, a homer, seven RBI, five walks and nine runs over 79 May plate appearances.

  • Marlins' Dee Gordon: Two more hits Sunday

Gordon went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.

He's now put together three straight multi-hit games, giving Gordon a .333/.400/.370 slash line over the last week that's been boosted by three HBPs. Despite the impressive OBP, he's only scored three runs during that stretch, however, as the bats behind him in Miami's lineup have remained mostly silent.

  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Braves' Dansby Swanson: Cracks two-run double Sunday

Swanson went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Sunday's loss to the Nationals.

After striking out three times in his first three at-bats against Stephen Strasburg, Swanson got a measure of revenge in the eighth inning, crushing a double off the wall in right-center that brought home the Braves' only two runs of the game. Swanson's now slashing .333/.418/.533 over the last two weeks, but his 17 strikeouts in 45 at-bats over that stretch indicate the young shortstop still has plenty to work on at the plate.

  • Luis Sardinas SS | WAS

Padres' Luis Sardinas: Designated for assignment

Sardinas was designated for assignment Sunday.

The roster move comes on the heels of the Padres claiming infielder Chase d'Arnaud off waivers from the Red Sox on Sunday. Sardinas hasn't exactly hit the lights out this season, as evidenced by his .163 average, no extra-base hits and single RBI across 49 at-bats, making him an easy choice to bump off the 40-man roster for the incoming d'Arnaud. He'll likely report to Triple-A El Paso if he clears waivers.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Goes deep Saturday

Seager went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run, two RBI and a pair of runs scored in Saturday's loss to the Marlins.

After a slow start to May, the 23-year-old has picked things up at the plate, batting .353 (12-for-34) with two homers and six RBI over his last 10 games. Seager's .299/.397/.510 slash line through 43 games is nearly identical to last year's line (.308/.365/.512) that earned him a spot among the elite fantasy shortstops.

  • Padres' Chase d'Arnaud: Claimed by Padres

D'Arnaud was claimed off waivers by the Padres on Sunday, Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

D'Arnaud was designated for assignment by the Red Sox on Thursday but was quickly scooped up by the Padres. He only appeared in two games for the Red Sox, but will likely see more action in a utility infield role with the Padres.

  • Dansby Swanson SS | CHC

Braves' Dansby Swanson: Moves up to No. 2 spot Sunday

Swanson will start at shortstop and bat second Sunday against the Nationals.

Usual No. 2 hitter Brandon Phillips is receiving a day off in the series finale, so Swanson isn't expected to stick in the upper third of the lineup heading into the Braves' four-game slate with the Pirates. After a miserable start to the season, Swanson has at least turned the corner over the last two weeks, recording hits in all but one of his last 12 games while batting .341.

  • Braves' Johan Camargo: Optioned to Triple-A

Camargo was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday, Kevin McAlpin of 680 The Fan reports.

With the Braves bringing in Matt Adams via trade to fill in for the injured Freddie Freeman (wrist), the team didn't have room available to carry Camargo as an extra infielder. During his second stint with the big club, Camargo went 1-for-7 with a run scored.
