  • Mets' Francisco Lindor: Belts two solo homers Friday

Lindor went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs and an additional run scored in Friday's 4-2 win over the Rockies.

Lindor kicked things off with a leadoff homer off Kyle Freeland. Lindor came across home plate in the third on a Juan Soto RBI double before finishing things off with another solo shot in the eighth. It was Lindor's second multi-homer game of the season, and the 31-year-old shortstop is slashing .278/.347/.480 with 10 steals, 12 home runs and 33 RBI across 259 plate appearances this season.

  • Mookie Betts RF | LAD

Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Dealing with toe injury

Betts will get X-rays after injuring a toe on his left foot Wednesday, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com reports.

Manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Betts stubbed his left toe at home Wednesday and is considered day-to-day until results from the X-ray come back. Miguel Rojas -- who is starting at shortstop against the Yankees on Friday -- would stand to see more playing time if Betts is forced to the injured list. Betts has slashed .258/.336/.402 with three steals, four home runs and 12 RBI in 110 plate appearances since the beginning of May.

Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Sitting down Friday

Betts isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Yankees.

After going 2-for-12 with an RBI and two runs scored during the Dodgers' last series in Cleveland, Betts will take a seat to begin a three-game set against New York. Miguel Rojas will start at shortstop and bat ninth.

  • Nick Allen SS | HOU

Braves' Nick Allen: Not in Friday's lineup

Allen (hand) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox.

Allen was struck in the hand by a pitch during Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Phillies, and he'll miss at least one start due to the injury. The 26-year-old already had X-rays come back negative and may not miss much additional time.

  • Jack Winkler SS | HOU

Marlins' Jack Winkler: Contract selected Friday

The Marlins selected Winkler's contract from Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday.

The 26-year-old will receive his first taste of the majors after posting a .754 OPS with five homers and 15 stolen bases in 41 games with Jacksonville to begin the season. Winkler can play all over the infield defensively and should fill a utility role with the Marlins.

  • Jack Winkler SS | HOU

    Marlins' Jack Winkler: Promotion incoming

Winkler is expected to be called up from Triple-A Jacksonville by the Marlins on Friday, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Winkler has enjoyed a productive start to the season with Jacksonville and has a .275/.331/.423 slash line with five homers and 15 steals in 41 games. The 26-year-old doesn't seem to have a path to regular playing time, though his ability to play all over the infield could help him see the field as a utility player.

  • C.J. Abrams SS | WAS

Nationals' CJ Abrams: Working through late-May slump

Abrams went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs scored in Thursday's 9-3 win over the Mariners.

It's been a cold stretch at the dish for Abrams, who got just his second hit in his last six games Thursday. The speedy shortstop has gone 2-for-24 with no RBI during this span, and he hasn't stolen a base since May 15. The month of May has been kind to Abrams overall, however, as he's batting .277 with 12 extra-base hits, eight RBI, four steals and 21 runs scored through his last 101 at-bats.

  • Nick Allen SS | HOU

Braves' Nick Allen: X-rays come back clean

X-rays on Allen's hand returned negative after he was forced to leave Thursday's game against the Phillies, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Allen was clipped in the hand by a pitch in the third inning and was removed immediately after. It appears he's avoided a long-term injury, though his status for Atlanta's weekend series against Boston is unclear.

  • Nick Allen SS | HOU

Braves' Nick Allen: Removed from Thursday's contest

Allen exited Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Phillies with an apparent finger injury, 680 The Fan Atlanta reports.

Allen had a pitch graze his hand in the third inning and was removed prior to Atlanta retaking the field in the fourth frame. The exact nature of the injury is unclear, but Luke Williams took over at shortstop.

  • Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA

Marlins' Xavier Edwards: Set to play second base upon return

Edwards (back) will start at second base in his first rehab game with Triple-A Jacksonville on Thursday and is expected to serve as the Marlins' primary option at the keystone once he's reinstated from the 10-day injured list, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Edwards broke into the big leagues as a second baseman in 2023 but has primarily played shortstop since the beginning of the 2024 season. While the Marlins don't seem opposed to occasionally using Edwards at shortstop moving forward, Otto Lopez has fared well defensively at the position since returning to action May 18 following an IL stint of his own, so Edwards will prepare for a full-time role at second base with Miami during his rehab assignment. Edwards is expected to need only a couple games with Jacksonville before potentially being activated at some point over the weekend.
