  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: In Wednesday's lineup

Baez is in the lineup and batting seventh for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.

Baez will man third base with Kris Bryant moving to left field. After a hot start in April, Baez has cooled off considerably, hitting just .219 with one home run and five RBI in 25 games during May. However, his versatility and above-average defense will allow him to continue to see playing time.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Not in lineup Tuesday

Rojas (shoulder) is not in Tuesday's lineup, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Rojas appeared to tweak his shoulder while swinging Monday night and was forced to leave the game. The Marlins don't believe the injury is serious, however, and Rojas is going to try to play through the ailment. Regardless, Rojas will take the day off Tuesday, s Derek Dietrich gets the nod at second base.

  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Not in lineup Tuesday

Ahmed is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Astros.

After starting the last four games, Ahmed will get the day off as the Diamondbacks go with Chris Owings at shortstop, while Michael Bourn takes over in center field. Owings will bat seventh against the Astros' Lance McCullers.

  • Miguel Rojas SS | LAD

Marlins' Miguel Rojas: Leaves with apparent shoulder injury

Rojas departed Monday's game against the the Pirates with an apparent shoulder injury, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.

Rojas left after just one at-bat, as he appeared to tweak his right shoulder while swinging. At this point it's unclear how much time Rojas could miss, but an update figures to come after the game. Rojas was replaced by Derek Dietrich at second base.

  • Chris Owings SS | LAD

Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Hits second homer of year

Owings went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk and two strikeouts Sunday against the Padres.

The outfielder has raised his average to .297 after hitting safely in 10 of the last 11 games. Owings has also hit seven extra-base hits over that span, and he's been one of Arizona's most consistent hitters during the past two weeks.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Cardinals' Aledmys Diaz: Gets the day off Sunday

Diaz is out of the lineup Sunday against the Nationals.

Diaz, who has batted second in the order in 10 straight contests, will rest Sunday in favor of Greg Garcia at shortstop. Diaz has been a staple in the St. Louis infield this season, but with tough righty Stephen Strasburg on the hill for the opposing Nationals, manager Mike Matheny will look to get as many left-handed bats in his lineup as possible. That will come at the cost of a start for Diaz, who sports an impressive .900 OPS on the season.

  • Braves' Chase d'Arnaud: Scratched from lineup

D'Arnaud was scratched from Saturday's lineup after being involved in a minor car accident on his way to the stadium, Kevin McAlpin of 680 The Fan in Atlanta reports.

D'Arnadu walked away from the fender bender unharmed, but the Braves opted to give him the day off anyway. He'll be replaced at shortstop by Daniel Castro, who will bat eighth in the order. Expect d'Arnaud to return to availability Sunday.

  • Ruben Tejada SS | BAL

Cardinals' Ruben Tejada: Designated for assignment Saturday

Tejada was designated for assignment by the Cardinals on Saturday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Tejada dealt with a quad injury early in the season which kept him sidelined until April 19. He never appeared to fully regroup upon his return, as he's just 6-for-34 at the plate this season. Tejada will be subjected to waivers, and if he is unclaimed, he may accept an outright assignment to Triple-A Memphis.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Rockies' Trevor Story: Two hits and two runs driven in

Story went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI Friday against the Giants.

The rookie shortstop has looked pretty comfortable in the seventh spot in the lineup, where he's gone 3-for-8 in the last two games. Strikeouts will always be an issue for him, but his power (13 home runs and 29 total extra-base hits) and ability to produce runs (35) more than make up for his lack of contact.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Holding steady at Triple-A

Arcia, 21, is slashing .299/.331/.425 with four home runs, 22 RBI and six steals through 40 games for Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Arcia's stolen base numbers appear to be down a bit, but he is otherwise flashing his expected skill set. Arcia has the ability to hit .300 with a little pop and a bunch of steals. Jonathan Villar is playing well at shortstop for the big cub, though, so Arcia will likely bide his time in the minors for the time being.
