Rockies' Trevor Story: Hits 13th homer of campaign

Story went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a strikeout against the Red Sox Thursday.

The move down the order and they off day Wednesday helped Story, as the rookie contributed on offense after he struck out six times in eight at-bats in the last two games. His value is still on the decline after he's gone 10-for-42 in the past 10 contests, but the homer might be what he needs to get back on track.

Rockies' Trevor Story: Batting seventh Thursday

Story is batting seventh for Thursday's series finale against the Red Sox, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.

Due to his scorching hot start, Story had been a mainstay in the second spot of the batting order. However, he's struggled to the tune of a .238 batting average with nine strikeouts over the past week, so manager Walt Weiss decided it was time for some change. This may reduce his ability to score runs if this continues, which could lower his somewhat declining value.

  • Braves' Chase d'Arnaud: Heating up in May

D'Arnaud is 11-for-26 (.423) with three doubles and a triple over the last seven games.

He has a hit in six of those seven contests. D'Arnaud also has seven walks versus just four strikeouts and two stolen bases during that time, but unfortunately it hasn't led to many runs. In the last seven games, d'Arnaud has two runs and zero RBI.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Hits game-winning RBI in extras

Crawford went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a walk and a run Wednesday against the Padres.

Crawford was decisive at the plate once again, and he provided the game-winning RBI with a single in the bottom of the 10th inning. With five RBI in the last two games and 21 over the month of May, the third baseman might be on the verge of breaking out despite going hitless in five of his last 11 games.

  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: In Wednesday's lineup

Ahmed is in the lineup Wednesday after taking a pitch to the jaw on Tuesday.

Ahmed left Tuesday's game, as did fellow middle infielder Jean Segura, who took a pitch to the head. While Segura will sit out at least Wednesday, Ahmed will get right back in there, starting at short and batting leadoff.

Rockies' Trevor Story: Not in Wednesday's lineup

Story is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Red Sox.

After wearing the golden sombrero with an four-strikeout performance Tuesday night, manager Walt Weiss decided it was a good day to give his young shortstop some rest. Christhian Adames will slot into the lineup at shortstop to fill in for him.

  • Giants' Brandon Crawford: Drives in four Tuesday against Padres

Crawford went 2-for-3 with a walk, a triple, four RBI and scored a run in Tuesday's victory over the Padres.

Although the batting average appears to be stagnant, Crawford's slugging percentage has been on the rise this month. He's slugging .488 through 82 at-bats in May, more than 100 points higher than the .385 he posted in April. In addition, Crawford has amassed 20 RBI since May 1, most in the NL over that span.

Rockies' Trevor Story: Gets the Golden Sombrero

Story went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts Tuesday against the Red Sox.

Story has been one of the biggest storylines this year, but it seems the league has beginning to adjust to him. The rookie shortstop has gone 2-for-16 after a seven-game hitting streak, and has struck out in 50 percent of his at-bats over that span.

  • Nick Ahmed SS | TEX

Diamondbacks' Nick Ahmed: Leaves Tuesday after getting hit by pitch

Ahmed left Tuesday's game after getting hit by a pitch in the jaw.

The team will release more information after he undergoes tests. Jean Segura also left after getting hit in the head by Arquimedes Caminero, who had no idea where the ball was going during his mop-up work Tuesday, so the Diamondbacks could be stretched pretty thin if Ahmed and Segura have to miss a game or two.

  • Daniel Castro SS | COL

Braves' Daniel Castro: Out of the lineup Tuesday against Brewers

Castro is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Brewers.

Castro will be replaced by Kelly Johnson at second base after struggling to get a hit in his past four games. His batting average and on-base percentage have dropped to .221 and .287, respectively.
