Braves' Ciriaco producing while Simmons is out with hand injury
Braves infielder Pedro Ciriaco has done a nice job the last few days filling in for the injured Andrelton Simmons, who is sidelined due to a hand injury.
Ciriaco made his second straight start Wednesday against Boston, going 3 for 4 with one double and two RBI. He has managed multiple hits in two straight games, going 5 for 8 (.625) with two doubles, three RBI and one run.

Marlins 2B Dee Gordon produces 27th multihit game
Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon totaled three singles in five at-bats Tuesday against the Yankees. He added two runs and one RBI in the 12-2 win.
Gordon has hit safely in five straight games and 11 of 14 games in June. He is batting .290 (18 for 62) with three doubles, three RBI, six runs, no walks, 11 strikeouts and two stolen bases in June.
Gordon is up to 27 multihit games in 2015. The most hits he has in a game this season is five, which he achieved on April 18 against the Mets.

Diamondbacks 2B Chris Owings records two RBI in win
Diamondbacks second baseman Chris Owings came up big during his team's 4-0 win over the Giants on Sunday.
Owings doubled to deep center field in the fifth inning, bringing in two crucial runs in the win.
''A lot of guys had good at-bats,'' Owings said. ''It was easy to go out there and compete with [Rubby De La Rosa] pitching his butt off.''
Owings is hitting .238 with two home runs and 17 RBI in 206 at-bats this year.

Diamondbacks outfielder Ender Inciarte returns to the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants after taking a day off on Saturday.
Inciarte will bat first and play right field.
Shortstop Nick Ahmed will get the day off after six consecutive starts in a row.

The Mets will also second baseman Ruben Tejada back in the lineup on Sunday against the Braves after missing the past three games due to paternity leave. Tejada has been activated and will start.
Outfielder Michael Cuddyer is not in Sunday's starting lineup, though this appears to be a day off. Filling in for Cuddyer will be Darrell Ceciliani out in left field.

Giants SS Brandon Crawford knocks ninth home run on Thursday
Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford continued his mastery over left-handed pitching on Thursday. Crawford launched his ninth home run of the season, a two-run shot off Mets lefty Jon Niese. The sixth-inning blast gave the Giants a 4-3 lead, but the Mets would end up with the 5-4 walk-off win on Thursday.
The home run was the only hit of the game for Crawford, who has now hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games. The lefty-swinging Crawford is batting .422 (19 for 45) with three home runs against southpaws, compared to his .252 average against right-handers.

Marlins 2B Dee Gordon not in Thursday's lineup
Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon will be given the day off during Thursday's contest against the Rockies, reports Fox Sports Florida.
Gordon will be replaced by Donovan Solano at second and shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria will bat in the leadoff spot.
Over his last 18 games, Gordon is hitting .296 with two RBI, nine runs scored and eight stolen bases.
The Marlins are the favorites (-130) over the Rockies on Thursday.

Owings hit .302 (13 for 43) with one double, four RBI, four runs, one walk, 14 strikeouts and two stolen bases during his 11-game hit streak.
