  • C.J. Abrams SS | WAS

Padres' CJ Abrams: On fire in minors

Abrams is on a seven-game hitting streak with Triple-A El Paso, slashing .429/.429/.657 with two homers, seven RBI and four stolen bases over that span.

The prized prospect was particularly impressive during a three-game stretch between June 11-14, going 11-for-16 with two homers, six RBI and three thefts. After opening the campaign in the majors with the Padres, Abrams has had some ups-and-downs in the minors, including an early nine-game stretch during which he went 4-for-42 at the plate. However, his overall stat line with El Paso -- he's slashing .310/.360/.500 with six long balls, 27 RBI, 32 runs and nine steals in 27 games -- leaves little doubt about his immense talent. It would be surprising if Abrams didn't return to the Padres at some point this season.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Records second homer

Perdomo went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI on Wednesday against the Reds.

Perdomo slugged a two-run homer in the second inning to record his second long ball of the season. He drove in another run on a single in the eighth inning to manage his third multi-RBI performance of the campaign. Despite his strong effort, Perdomo is hitting just .224 with 14 RBI and 20 runs scored across 192 plate appearances on the season.

  • Willy Adames SS | SF

Brewers' Willy Adames: Productive in win

Adames went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-2 win over the Mets.

Adames did most of his damage in the fifth inning. He opened the frame with a single, scored on a bases-loaded walk by Victor Caratini, and then added a two-run single in his second trip to the plate. With five hits -- including three for extra bases -- in his last three games, Adames is starting to show up on offense more. He's batting .208/.292/.465 with 11 homers, 30 RBI, 28 runs scored, eight doubles and a stolen base through 178 plate appearances this year.

  • Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Doubles twice Wednesday

Bogaerts went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 10-1 win over the Athletics.

The shortstop continues to hit the ball went in June, posting his fifth multi-hit effort in 12 games. Bogaerts is 17-for-43 (.395) this month, and he's added a home run, six doubles, eight RBI and nine runs. It's nothing new for the 29-year-old, who owns a .335/.401/.498 slash line, six homers, 30 RBI, 39 runs scored, three stolen bases and 19 doubles through 61 contests this season. He's settled in to the cleanup spot nicely for the Red Sox for much of the last month.

  • Corey Seager SS | TEX

Rangers' Corey Seager: Tallies 13th homer

Seager went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk Wednesday against the Astros.

Seager took Luis Garcia yard in the third inning to record his 13th home run of the season. He has at least one hit in five of his last six games, racking up two home runs, a double, four RBI and three runs scored in that span. Seager is hitting a disappointing .224 on the season, though he is striking out at just a 17.3 percent clip and has a .223 BABIP.

  • Josh H. Smith 2B | TEX

Rangers' Josh Smith: Begins rehab assignment

Smith (shoulder) reported to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday to begin a rehab assignment.

The 24-year-old has been on the injured list with a sprained shoulder since June 4, but he's now entering the final stage of his rehab program. Smith should only require a few games in the minors given the brevity of his absence.

  • Diego Castillo 3B | MIN

Pirates' Diego Castillo: Day off Wednesday

Castillo isn't starting Wednesday's game against the Cardinals.

Castillo went 1-for-19 with a homer, two runs, two walks and six strikeouts over the last seven games, and he'll get a breather during Wednesday's series finale against St. Louis. Hoy Park is starting at shortstop and batting ninth.

  • Marco Luciano SS | NYY

Giants' Marco Luciano: Shut down with lower-back strain

The Giants announced Wednesday that Luciano has been diagnosed with a lower-back strain and will be shut down from baseball activities for at least a couple of weeks before resuming workouts, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

High-A Eugene placed Luciano on its 7-day injured list Friday with an injury that was termed as "lower-back tightness," but follow-up tests evidently revealed that the elite prospect strained a muscle. He'll head to the Giants' spring training facility in Arizona to conduct his rehab, and he doesn't look as though he'll be ready to rejoin the High-A lineup until at least July. The 20-year-old infielder was slashing .288/.360/.507 with eight home runs in 164 plate appearances for Eugene before sustaining the injury.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Not starting Wednesday

Crawford (illness) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins.

Since the Mariners are closing their series with a day game after a night game, Crawford will unsurprisingly remain on the bench and get more time to recuperate from the illness that resulted in him being scratched ahead of Tuesday's 4-2 win. Manager Scott Servais has described Crawford's illness as flu-like symptoms, so the 27-year-old doesn't appear to be a candidate to land on the COVID-19-related injured list at this time.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Takes over at SS for injured Pena

Diaz will start at shortstop and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Rangers, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

He'll pick up his second start in a row and looks primed to serve as the Astros' everyday shortstop after star rookie Jeremy Pena (thumb) was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday. Over 119 plate appearances on the season, Diaz has hit .214 with three home runs and no stolen bases, so his fantasy upside isn't especially high even while he remains part of a potent Houston lineup.
