DeJong (back) went 0-for-3 with two walks in an extra-inning loss to the Brewers on Wednesday.

Sidelined for the last three games due to back tightness, DeJong was able to get on twice while returning to his usual shortstop duties. DeJong had gone 0-for-3 in his last game with a plate appearance before his brief absence, but prior to that contest, he was 6-for-19 with two doubles, two home runs, five RBI, two walks and five runs over the previous five games.

Bogaerts went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Yankees.

Bogaerts' opposite-field blast off Andrew Heaney was his 19th of the season and gave Boston an early 1-0 lead. The star shortstop has now driven in a run in six of his last eight games, plating 11 runs in total over that span.

Velazquez went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a run and a stolen base Wednesday in a win over Boston.

The 27-year-old knocked in a run with a second-inning single, then stole second base and came around to score on an Anthony Rizzo single. Velazquez later drove in another run with a single in the eighth to conclude his first multi-hit effort of the season. Through 23 plate appearances, the infielder is slashing .217/.261/.478 with four RBI and a 0:8 BB:K.

Seager went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Wednesday's win over the Pirates.

The shortstop knocked in a run with a first-inning single, then plated the Dodgers' final runs with a two-run homer in the sixth frame. Seager's homer was just his sixth of the campaign and second since returning from a broken right hand July 30. Though the power hasn't been there, Seager has hit well since that time, slashing .333/.403/.540 with seven doubles and 13 runs over 17 games.

Mondesi (oblique) will resume a rehab assignment at Triple-A Omaha on Thursday.

Mondesi's rehab assignment was paused Sunday after he experienced oblique tightness, and further tests revealed that he's still dealing with scar tissue in his right oblique from an injury earlier in the year. The 26-year-old is expected to take most of his swings from the right side to limit the exertion on his right oblique, but it's encouraging to see him return to game action following the brief shutdown.

Franco went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, two RBI and one run Wednesday in the Rays' 8-4 win over the Orioles.

With only six home runs and two stolen bases through his first 189 big-league plate appearances, Franco isn't wowing from a fantasy standpoint, but the touted rookie is at least starting to settle into a comfort zone at the plate following a slow start to his career. Through 14 games in August, Franco is slashing .291/.361/.509. He'll start at shortstop and bat second in Thursday's series finale.

Barrero went 2-for-3 with a double in Wednesday's 7-1 loss to the Cubs.

Barrero struggled in his first cup of coffee in the big leagues last year at age 22. He responded by slashing .303/.378/.532 with 17 homers and 15 steals in 80 games between Double-A and Triple-A to open 2021, earning another look in Cincinnati. Barrero is a top prospect in the organization, and his performance Wednesday was a bright spot for the Reds -- he also turned a pair of double plays alongside Jonathan India. However, Kyle Farmer has emerged as a viable major-league shortstop this season and Barrero has no professional outfield experience, so there does not appear to be a path to regular at-bats at the moment.

Anderson isn't starting Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Anderson has gone 4-for-13 with a triple, a run, an RBI and a stolen base across his last three games. Danny Mendick will start at shortstop and bat eighth.

Turner is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Pirates, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Turner started the past 10 games for Los Angeles, but he'll receive the day off after posting a .762 OPS during that stretch. Gavin Lux will work at second base Wednesday for the Dodgers.
