Adames went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in a 4-2 win over the Cubs during the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

The shortstop led off the fourth inning with his 21st homer of the season, setting a new career high and getting the Brewers on the board. Sixteen of Adames' long balls have come in just 68 games since he was traded from Tampa Bay, and on the season he sports a .491 SLG and .826 OPS, both of which would be personal bests.

Crawford (illness) is batting leadoff and playing shortstop Tuesday against the Rangers.

An illness sidelined the shortstop Saturday and Sunday but he's back in action to open the series against Texas. Crawford hit .302 with four RBI in his last 10 games.

Baez's absence from Tuesday's lineup against the Mets is primarily due to tightness in his lower back as opposed to his left hip, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. The club is optimistic that he'll be available off the bench.

Baez left Sunday's game with what the club later labeled as a left hip issue, but it sounds like the infielder is actually dealing with more pain in the lower part of his back. The 28-year-old has a chance of appearing off the bench Tuesday as he remains day-to-day.

Martinez is hitting .261/.333/.420 with five homers, 10 steals and 28:57 BB:K across 68 games for Low-A Lynchburg.

At just 19, Martinez is 2.4 years younger than the average player in the league, and he's more than holding his own against older competition. This is the Dominican infielder's first season stateside, and he's making a positive impression, racing up Cleveland's prospect ranks thanks to his well-rounded skill set. Of course, he's still several years from the majors, but managers in dynasty formats will want to file his name away.

Baez (hip) is not starting Tuesday against the Nationals, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Baez exited Sunday's game against Philadelphia with tightness in his left hip. The infielder underwent additional testing Monday, and the club is continuing to label him as day-to-day for the time being. That being said, if Baez doesn't improve substantially in the next day or two, a trip to the injured list remains a strong possibility.

Bichette (lower leg) is back in the starting lineup for Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Angels.

Bichette missed Sunday's series finale against the Red Sox because of a pair of left shin contusions. The shortstop appears to be capable of playing through the issue now, however, as he's set to bat cleanup in Tuesday's matinee.

Wendle is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

After making two straight starts, the lefty-hitting Wendle will unsurprisingly move to the bench with a southpaw (Eduardo Rodriguez) on the hill for Boston. Wander Franco and Yandy Diaz will form the left side of the infield for the Rays.

The Athletics promoted Allen from Double-A Midland to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

The 22-year-old shortstop hasn't played for Midland since July 15, instead spending most of the past three weeks with Team USA in Tokyo helping the national team secure the silver medal in the Olympic Games. The Athletics evidently felt Allen's experience against higher-level international competition was enough to warrant a bump up to Triple-A, where he'll likely remain for the rest of the season. Over his 229 plate appearances at Midland, Allen slashed .319/.374/.471 with six home runs and an 8-for-14 success rate on stolen-base attempts.

Anderson went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and an additional run Monday in the White Sox's 11-1 win over the Twins.

After back-to-back three-hit performances, Anderson's batting average now sits at .300 for the third season in a row. The shortstop staked the White Sox to an early advantage with a leadoff home run off Beau Burrows, one of three long balls Chicago slugged in the first two innings.

Marcano is 9-for-30 with five walks in August for Triple-A Indianapolis.

He has hits in each of his last eight games and figures to make his way to Pittsburgh before season's end. Marcano has started at five positions in 12 starts for Indy, seeing time at second base, shortstop, third base and the two corner outfield spots. The 21-year-old's versatility could add to his fantasy utility whenever he becomes a major leaguer.
