Owings was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left thumb sprain Saturday.

Owings has been dealing with a tight hamstring recently, but he's now also managing a thumb injury that will force him to miss at least 10 days. It's not yet clear when Owings will be able to return to action, but Alan Trejo's contract was selected by the Rockies in a corresponding move. Trejo will serve as a bench option with Owings and Brendan Rodgers (hamstring) sidelined.

Owings is still dealing with hamstring tightness Saturday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Owings lined a triple as a pinch hitter in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Giants, but manager Bud Black revealed Saturday that the 29-year-old is still receiving treatment for a tight hamstring. The team continues to monitor Owings' progress closely, and he should be considered day-to-day.

Wendle went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Friday's 10-5 win over the Yankees.

Wendle's two-run double off Nick Nelson in the third inning proved to be decisive as it put the Rays up 5-4, a lead the team would not relinquish. The 30-year-old continues to have a solid start to the season, slashing .300/.300/.550 from the six-hole. He has not drawn a walk yet this year, but he has racked up seven RBI across six games.

Ahmed (knee) is expected to be activated off the injured list this weekend, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

The Diamondbacks welcomed back Kole Calhoun on Friday and could get another regular back if Ahmed is deemed ready. Josh Rojas has been filling in at shortstop, but after an 0-for-4 on Friday, he's batting just .074.

Crawford went 1-for-4 with a two-RBI double in Friday's 3-1 win over the Rockies.

The Giants couldn't get much going against Rockies starter Austin Gomber until the seventh inning. With the bases loaded, Crawford sent a double to right-center field, scoring Darin Ruf and Buster Posey to give Giants starter Johnny Cueto all the run support he needed. The 34-year-old Crawford hasn't hit very well to start the year with a .136/.174/.318 slash line, a homer, three RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base across 23 plate appearances. Nonetheless, the veteran shortstop should have a long leash before he would lose playing time to Donovan Solano or Mauricio Dubon.

Owings (hamstring) hit a triple and scored a run in his only at-bat as a pinch hitter in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Giants.

The 29-year-old entered the game in the ninth inning for pitcher Jordan Sheffield and hit a triple before coming around to score on Garrett Hampson's sacrifice fly for the Rockies' lone run of the game. The hamstring isn't expected to keep Owings out of the starting lineup for long. He'll be welcomed back, as he has a .533/.588/1.133 slash line across 17 plate appearances. He's produced six runs scored, three RBI, two stolen bases, three triples and three doubles.

Adames went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBI in Friday's 10-5 win over the Yankees.

Adames started the Rays' scoring parade with an RBI double in the second inning before capping off the big win with a solo shot in the seventh. After a brutal 4-for-19 start, the 25-year-old shortstop doubled his extra-base hit total and raised his season OPS to .813.

Adrianza (personal) was reinstated from the restricted list prior to Friday's game against the Phillies.

He missed a week while going through COVID-19 protocols and attending to a personal matter. Adrianza is not in the lineup Friday and should resume a bench role going forward.

Camargo was optioned to the alternate site Friday.

Ehire Adrianza was reinstated from the restricted list, so Camargo's services as a bench infielder were no longer needed. He will provide depth throughout the campaign.

Edman went 1-for-4 with a triple in a win over the Brewers on Thursday.

The 25-year-old extended his hitting streak to five games with the three-bagger, his first of the season after lacing eight over his first two big-league campaigns. Edman has been a hit in the leadoff spot thus far, posting a .344 on-base percentage and stealing a pair of bases over his first 32 plate appearances.
