Gordon has experienced improvement in his right quadriceps strain and could begin baseball activities this coming week, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

The knot that Gordon had in his quadriceps muscle has reportedly dissolved, leading manager Scott Servais to suggest Gordon could ramp up his activity level in the coming days. The veteran was a prime candidate to be moved prior to the July 31 trade deadline, but the timing of his injury has presumably all but tied him to the Mariners for the remainder of 2019.

Fletcher went 4-for-5 with three RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 8-7 loss to the Orioles.

Fletcher provided a go-ahead two-run double in the second inning that gave the Angels a 4-2 lead. Fletcher added an RBI single in the ninth inning as the Halos tried to rally one more time, and he stole second base while representing the winning run, but the comeback push failed when Justin Upton popped out. Fletcher is hitting .298/.360/.415 with 36 RBI, 55 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 100 games this season.

Ahmed went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and five RBI in Saturday's 9-2 win at Miami.

Ahmed provided the Diamondbacks with a 6-1 lead during the fourth inning with his one-out grand slam, the second of his career. The 29-year-old had only two extra-base hits in 13 games since the All-Star break entering Saturday, though he did have a .293 average in that stretch.

Correa went 2-for-5 with a home run and five RBI in Saturday's 8-2 win over the Cardinals. He exited in the ninth inning after being spiked in the right elbow on a slide but expects to play in Sunday's series finale, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.

After singling in a run in the first inning, the shortstop drove a Michael Wacha fastball over the right-field fence in the third for his first career grand slam. Correa wasted little time getting back into a groove, launching his 12th homer of the year in his second game back from a two-month absence, and on the season he's now slashing .293/.356/.551. The 24-year-old was the recipient of a poor slide during the eighth inning and briefly dealt with some numbness to prompt his exit, but he said after the game that he has no further issues.

Adames went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer in a 10-9 loss to the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Adames' homer was his first in July and came after he was just 2-for-25 in his last eight games. The 23-year-old still has a rather anemic .237/.298/.383 slash line for the season but is continuing to get regular playing time. He now has 11 home runs and 30 RBI over 355 at-bats.

Swanson (foot) is hoping to return from the injured list when first eligible Aug. 3, Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Swanson is currently on the injured list with a right foot contusion, but it doesn't sound like his stay on the shelf will be an extended one. As of now, the Braves don't anticipate Swanson needing more than the minimum 10 days to recover.

Crawford is out of the lineup Saturday against the Tigers.

Crawford has slashed .252/.336/.450 and made an impressive 35 consecutive starts since returning from an ankle injury June 14. The rare day off comes after the 24-year-old went 0-for-4 Friday night, following a four-game stretch where the shortstop reached base in 10 out of 17 plate appearances. Dylan Moore is starting at shortstop and will hit ninth against left-hander Tyler Alexander.

Mateo, who went 4-for-6 with two solo home runs and four runs for Triple-A Las Vegas in a win over El Paso on Friday, has three homers and four RBI in his last two games.

The promising shortstop continues to benefit from the Pacific Coast League's hitter-friendly conditions, with his recent two-game surge pushing his season line to .298/.330/.526. Mateo is projected to remain down on the farm until rosters expand at the big-league level in September, but his body of work this season represents a marked improvement over his first exposure to Triple-A arms last year in Nashville.

Swanson was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right foot contusion.

The injury was previously reported to be heel soreness, but the club is labeling it as a bruised foot. It sounds like a situation where Swanson just needs some time to rest and recover. Johan Camargo should slot in as the everyday shortstop in the short term.

Wendle is not in Saturday's lineup against the Blue Jays.

Mike Brosseau gets the start at the keystone with lefty Ryan Borucki starting for Toronto. While Wendle has seen some starts against lefties recently, this is a quasi platoon, as the righty-hitting Brosseau has shown an ability to mash lefties in the upper levels of the minors.
