Velazquez has been placed on the minor-league injured list at Triple-A Durham with a thumb sprain and is expected to be sidelined for approximately two weeks, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The infielder has logged a couple of major-league stints already this season, hitting just .083 over 12 plate appearances. However, he's enjoyed much more success with the Bulls, slashing a solid .269/.320/.462 over 30 games (128 plate appearances). If Velazquez doesn't suffer any setbacks during his recovery, a late-June return appears to be in the cards.

Turner went 1-for-5 with a walk-off two-run home run in a 6-4 victory against the White Sox on Wednesday.

He struck out three times, but when it mattered, Turner belted a homer to win it. Because of a finger injury, Turner was playing in just his 22nd game of the year Wednesday. He is batting .263 with three homers, nine RBI, 14 runs and eight steals in 95 at-bats this season.

Updating a previous report, Crawford (ankle) will head out on a rehab assignment at either Triple-A Tacoma or High-A Modesto in the coming days, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Crawford is expected to potentially join teammates Dee Gordon and Ryon Healy in embarking on rehab assignments by this coming weekend. If all goes well during Crawford's time in the minors, he could be cleared for a return at some point during the Mariners' upcoming 10-game road trip that kicks off Friday against the Angels.

Gordon (wrist) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment over the weekend, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Gordon will join either Triple-A Tacoma or High-A Modesto for his rehab stint. Assuming everything goes as planned during his time in the minors, Gordon could rejoin the Mariners during their upcoming 10-game road trip, which begins Friday and runs through June 16.

Wendle (wrist) will begin a minor-league rehab assignment with High-A Charlotte on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Wendle was originally scheduled to kick off his rehab stint Wednesday, but he'll get an extra day to rest before making his return to game action. The 29-year-old has been sidelined since the end of April, so he'll likely need to appear in a handful of minor-league games before rejoining the Rays.

Crawford is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Mets, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Rojas went 3-for-5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Brewers.

Six different Marlins had multi-hit efforts in the 16-0 rout, giving Rojas a chance to be productive even from the bottom of the order. The shortstop has hit safely in seven straight games and 13 of his last 14, slashing .346/.386/.404 over that stretch with two steals, five RBI and seven runs.

Diaz (hamstring) fielded grounders and took batting practice Tuesday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Diaz was placed on the injured list May 26 with the left hamstring issue and Tuesday marked his first time fielding groundballs or taking BP since landing on the shelf. The 28-year-old has been running over the past week but won't begin a rehab assignment until after the Astros return for their upcoming homestand, which begins Friday.
