Manager Scott Servais confirmed Crawford is dealing with a sprained left ankle, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Servais added that the sprain isn't a bad one, which is good news after the shortstop "severely" rolled his ankle in a rundown Tuesday and had to be helped off the field. Crawford is expected to land on the 10-day injured list due to the injury, though the hope is that his absence will only last a few weeks. Look for Tim Beckham to return to an everyday role at shortstop while Crawford is on the shelf.

Correa will be sidelined 4-to-6 weeks with a cracked rib, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

It was originally thought that Correa's cracked rib would force the shortstop to miss 3-to-4 weeks, but after placing him on the injured list Wednesday, the Astros confirmed Correa would miss at least the next month and could ultimately remain sidelined through the All-Star break. Myles Straw was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move, while Alex Bregman and Jack Mayfield figure to fill in at shortstop while Correa is on the mend.

Correa is expected to miss the next 3-to-4 weeks due to a cracked rib, Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston reports.

General manager Jeff Luhnow suggested earlier in the week that Correa could miss multiple weeks due to his rib injury, and a visit to the doctor Tuesday confirmed just that. The Astros have yet to officially place Correa on the IL; Alex Bregman and Jack Mayfield are options to see time at shortstop while the 24-year-old is on the shelf.

Herrera pinch hit for Curtis Granderson in the eighth inning and went 1-for-1 with a solo home run in Tuesday's win over the Giants.

The 26-year-old has started only two games since May 15, as Harold Ramirez's emergence has pushed Herrera into a reserve role for which he's probably a better fit. The homer was his first of the season and only the second of his career, and his .207/.281/.299 slash line doesn't make a strong case for more consistent playing time.

Turner went 3-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over Atlanta.

The shortstop did an excellent job setting the table for the Nats, even if his teammates couldn't find a way to bring him around. Turner is slashing only .245/.298/.321 through 12 games since returning from the IL, but Tuesday's performance could be a sign he's about to turn on the jets.

DeJong, who went 0-for-3 with a run in a loss to the Phillies on Tuesday, is 0-for-18 overall with four walks and five strikeouts in his last six games.

The multi-game slide has pushed DeJong's season average under .300 (.291) for the first time since April 9, a testament to how impressive he's been at the plate overall. The emerging shortstop's current funk aside, he's still carrying career-best figures in batting average (.291) and on-base percentage (.394) through his first 53 games.

Crawford was helped off the field after "severely" rolling his left ankle in a rundown during the eighth inning of Tuesday's loss to the Rangers and is expected to be placed on the 10-day injured list, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports. "That was a gut punch to everybody," manager Scott Servais said. "J.P. was playing great and not just tonight, but [Tuesday] might have been his best game since he was brought up. It's very disappointing. He's getting X-rays right now and we'll know more [Wednesday]. Hopefully, it's just an ankle sprain and he'll be back soon."

Crawford had gone 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a double, a walk and a run before the injury, the latest successful installment of what has been a productive big-league stint thus far. Crawford's forthcoming absence, however long in duration, is expected to result in Tim Beckham returning to an everyday role at shortstop for the time being.

Fletcher went 2-for-4 with a two-run single and a run scored in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Athletics.

Fletcher has hit safely in six straight games, going 10-for-24 with four RBI and five runs scored in that span. Four of those hits have gone for extra bases. The utilityman has settled into the starting job at shortstop with Andrelton Simmons (ankle) out. Fletcher is hitting .318/.365/.458 through 53 games this year.

Baez is serving as the designated hitter Tuesday at Houston since his right heel still bothers him when moving laterally, Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic reports.

Baez missed a couple games last week due to the sore right heel and he's apparently not fully over the issue. The fact the 26-year-old is still set to play Tuesday indicates it's not a major concern, and it makes sense to keep him off his feet by utilizing him as the DH while it's available in Houston. Baez could return to the field for Wednesday's series finale, but it wouldn't be surprising to see manager Joe Maddon play it safe with a scheduled off day to follow Thursday.

Anderson (wrist) is not in the lineup for Tuesday night's game against the Royals, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Anderson appeared as a pinch runner during the completion of the suspended game versus the Royals on Tuesday afternoon, but he's apparently not quite ready to rejoin the starting lineup. Jose Rondon will start at shortstop while Anderson remains on the bench for the fourth straight game due to his sore right wrist.
