O'Malley is sidelined with a broken left hand, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

No word has come forth as to when the injury cropped up, but the injury has limited him to just 15 at-bats this spring. O'Malley hopes to have the cast removed from his hand later this week, but it will still be tough for him to take part in many baseball activities for the time being. This all but rules him out from landing an active roster spot out of camp, leaving him to dwell as an organizational depth piece once again this season.

Castro seems to be in line for a roster spot to start the season if Pat Valaika (oblique) isn't healthy by then, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Castro's bat offers little fantasy upside (.217/.250/.265 slash line in 239 career MLB plate appearances), but his positional versatility makes him a good candidate to fill a bench role for Colorado. He offers significantly more real-life value than fantasy value.

Baez (hamstring) is hopeful that will receive some at-bats against Arizona on Thursday and subsequently play the field Friday or Saturday, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

The Cubs will continue to take it easy with Baez, but it doesn't appear as though there's too much concern over his status moving forward. Expect to see him back on the field this weekend barring any sort of setback.

Turner went 1-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored and two stolen bases in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Mets.

Hitting second behind Wilmer Difo in order to get him acclimated to his likely new spot in the batting order, Turner pumped his spring OBP up to .424 while swiping his first two bases. He's had some uncharacteristic contact issues so far, striking out 12 times in 33 plate appearances, but that's unlikely to carry forward into the regular season. If Turner is able to play a full schedule this year, expect the 24-year-old to be a fantasy dynamo given his ability to contribute in all five major fantasy categories.

Manager Brian Snitker said that Camargo will likely sit out the rest of the week as a precaution after exiting Tuesday's contest with back tightness, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

There doesn't seem to be any real concern over Camargo's status, as Snitker is viewing this injury as a chance for others to earn reps at the hot corner. Expect to see the 24-year-old back in the lineup by early next week.

Baez (hamstring) could return to Cactus League games at the latter end of the week, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

Although Baez has been adamant that he's entirely healthy, the Cubs have been cautious with him, as there's no reason to rush him back into the lineup. Baez is on track to be active when Opening Day arrives.

Mateo was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.

Mateo had a terrific game Tuesday against the Royals. The 22-year-old went 2-for-4, with both hits being home runs. However, with Jed Lowrie and Marcus Semien at second base and shortstop, respectively, it seemed likely that Mateo would return to the minors before the 2018 season got underway. After logging a .292/.333/.518 line over 30 games at Double-A Midland following his trade from the Yankees last season, Mateo will have his first chance to play at the Triple-A level.

Manager Brian Snitker said Camargo was removed from Tuesday's spring game with back tightness, David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The good news is Snitker said the issue wasn't a big deal. Camargo will still likely get Wednesday off as the team plays it safe with him, but it doesn't sound like the injury will keep him sidelined for too long. The 24-year-old, who is expected to open the season as the Braves' primary third baseman, is 7-for-29 (.241) so far in Grapefruit League action.

Velazquez exited Tuesday's Grapefruit League game early after being hit in the head by a pitch, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Velazquez seemed to be fine while speaking with manager Kevin Cash after the incident, so it seems like the removal was simply precautionary. Look for a better grasp of the severity of the issue once the team medical staff has a chance to examine him.

Adrianza (calf) is listed as an available reserve for Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Orioles, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Adrianza has sat out the past week of exhibition play while recovering from a minor left calf strain. With the utility man progressing as anticipated, he should be called upon Tuesday to play a few innings in the infield or left field in relief of one of the Twins' regulars.
