  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Brewers' Orlando Arcia: Out of lineup Friday

Arcia is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Marlins.

Arcia takes a seat on the bench for the series opener following a 1-for-3 day at the plate during Wednesday's victory over Pittsburgh. In his place, Eric Sogard draws the start, while batting atop the order.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Rockies' Trevor Story: Won't miss any time

Story (hamstring) is in Friday's lineup against the Padres, Jenny Cavnar of AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain reports.

Story was forced to exit Thursday's game with a hamstring cramp, but the shortstop won't miss any additional time as he's back in the lineup for the series opener against San Diego on Friday. He is currently riding a six-game hitting streak, going 8-for-24 with two home runs and four RBI over that span.

  • Braves' Johan Camargo: Out of lineup Friday

Camargo is not in the lineup against the Mets on Friday.

Camargo continues to play sporadically since coming off the DL (knee) on Sept. 4, as Rio Ruiz draws the start at third base for Friday's affair. Since his return, Camargo is hitting .409 (9-for-22) with four extra-base hits and five RBI in six games. Moving forward, it appears as though he get starts about half the time, or maybe a little more, since manager Brian Snitker is content on giving Ruiz a decent amount of time at the hot corner.

  • Tim Anderson 2B | LAA

White Sox's Tim Anderson: Finishing strong

Anderson went 3-for-7 with two RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 17-7 win over the Tigers.

Anderson's been raking since the beginning of August, slashing .315/.327/.549/.877 with seven home runs, 11 doubles, three triples and five stolen bases over 38 games. He's also played better defense of late, committing just four of his 26 errors since Aug. 2. Anderson attributes his turnaround to going to see a counselor, according to Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune. The young shortstop has been dealing with the shooting death of a close friend since early in the season and feels he's been freer since talking it out.

  • Yu Chang SS | TB

Indians' Yu-Cheng Chang: Shines among Eastern League shortstops

Chang finished his first Double-A campaign with a .220/.312/.461 slash line, 24 home runs, 66 RBI and 72 runs.

Although his average dipped from his first few professional seasons, Chang impressively led Eastern League shortstops in home runs, RBI and runs. The 22-year-old native of Taiwan also chipped in 11 stolen bases, matching his 2016 total with High-A Lynchburg. Chang will need to improve his batting average, and show more plate discipline before becoming an option for the big-league club.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Rockies' Trevor Story: Exits with hamstring cramp

Story was removed from Thursday's loss to the Diamondbacks with a cramp in his right hamstring, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.

Story did not seem concerned about his health following Thursday's game, so as long as he is only dealing with cramping, he will have a chance to return to action for the Rockies' next game Friday against the Padres. Story went 1-for-3 Thursday prior to exiting, extending his hitting streak to six games.

  • Chris Owings SS | LAD

Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Will have checkup Monday

Owings (finger) will meet with a hand specialist for a checkup Monday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Since fracturing his right middle finger July 30 and subsequently landing on the 60-day disabled list, Owings hasn't hit any roadblocks in his recovery, so the checkup should just be deemed precautionary and could result in the infielder being cleared for hitting. Thus far during his rehab, Owings has been able to run the bases and field grounders at shortstop without issue, so once he adds hitting to his list of activities, he'll have a good chance at returning to the Diamondbacks when first eligible Sept. 29. That would provide him with a handful of games before the regular season ends to make his case for a spot on the Diamondbacks' postseason roster.

  • Javier Baez SS | DET

Cubs' Javier Baez: Homers among four hits

Baez went 4-for-5 with a solo homer and three runs scored in Wednesday's 17-5 shellacking of the Mets.

He hadn't produced a multi-hit game since Sept. 2, and Baez had put up just a .217/..280/.304 line over the Cubs' last nine games -- three of which saw him excluded from the stating lineup. Nonetheless, the 24-year-old infielder has enjoyed a breakout campaign this year, setting new personal bests across the board: hits (117), doubles (22), homers (22), RBI (69), runs (69) and OPS (.806).

  • Richard Urena SS | WAS

Blue Jays' Richard Urena: Extends hitting streak to six games

Urena went 1-for-4 with an RBI double, but also stuck out three times hitting from the leadoff spot in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to Baltimore.

The shortstop extended his modest hitting streak to six games, a run that includes a .400 batting average, a home run, two doubles, four RBI and three runs. On the flip side, Urena has also stuck out 12 times during that six-game stretch. Toronto is committed to getting a good look at the youngster, but his strikeout rate could force manager John Gibbons to move the prospect out of the leadoff spot, thus reducing Urena's volume and opportunities.

  • Chris Owings SS | LAD

Diamondbacks' Chris Owings: Could return for season's final series

Owings (finger) could be ready to come off the 60-day disabled list for the Diamondbacks' series in Kansas City at the end of September, Jack Magruder of FanRagSports.com reports.

Owings is eligible to return Sept. 29, and if he's able to return at that time, it would give him an opportunity to showcase his stuff prior to the playoffs. His defensive versatility and power/speed combo on offense would be a valuable addition if Owings proves he's healthy and doesn't show significant rust. While this is a good sign for Owings' overall health, he likely won't be much use in single-season leagues even if he gets back before the end of the season.
