Pennington went 2-for-4 in Monday's 6-3 loss to the Braves.

The utility man notched his first multi-hit effort since May 12 in Monday's loss, snapping an 0-for-8 slump. Pennington has bounced back after a difficult April in which he hit just .179, as he's now slashing .279/.354/.279 over 48 plate appearances in May.

Baez went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Padres.

To be fair, nobody in the Chicago lineup could muster much offense in this one, as they racked up just three knocks overall. Baez's big power stroke often leads to swings and misses (24.7 percent strikeout rate), so he'll have days like this. The young utility player has been one of Chicago's more consistent hitters this year. His power and stellar defense mean he should continue to play regularly even in a crowded Chicago lineup.

Gordon went 1-for-4 with a RBI double in Monday's 4-1 win over the Phillies.

Gordon's third-inning two-bagger brought home the first run of the night and served as the speedy infielder's third double in his last seven contests. The 29-year-old has hit safely in eight consecutive starts, and he's swiped 11 bags in May.

Correa went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, three RBI and three runs during Monday's win over Minnesota.

Correa has strung together five consecutive multi-hit games with two doubles, two homers, six RBI and five runs. He sports a .311/.386/.514 slash line with eight bombs, 30 RBI and 33 runs for the campaign, and the 22-year-old Correa has a good chance at posting career-best numbers hitting in the heart of Houston's lineup.

Lindor is back in the lineup Monday against the Athletics.

Lindor was given a rare day off Sunday, but he'll be back in business Monday afternoon, batting second and manning shortstop.

Anderson will start at shortstop and lead off for the White Sox in Monday's game against the Red Sox.

Anderson has served as the White Sox's leadoff hitter on five other occasions in May, but had been batting out of the No. 5 spot over each of the previous five games. The shortstop's move upward in the lineup is likely just a result of Leury Garcia getting the afternoon off, so it's not expected that manager Rick Renteria has any plans to permanently stop using Anderson in the heart of the order.

Turner went 2-for-5 with a run scored in Sunday's loss to the Padres.

He seems to be putting things together at the plate, as Turner now has a .303/.324/.485 slash line over his last eight games with a homer, two steals, four RBI and five runs. Despite his slow start, the 23-year-old still has plenty of time to turn his season around.

DeJong hit a pinch-hit solo home run in Sunday's loss to Colorado.

DeJong became the 119th player in major league history to hit a home run in his first career at-bat, the 20th as a pinch hitter, doing it on the same day he was recalled from Triple-A Memphis. He connected for a solo shot off Rockies closer Greg Holland on just the second pitch he saw. DeJong was called up to replace an injured Kolten Wong (elbow), bringing a versatile glove with him. Apparently the pop he showcased in the minors is real, too. He hit a team-high 11 home runs before being recalled. DeJong is expected to fill in at multiple positions along the St. Louis infield.

Ahmed went 2-for-5 with an RBI double and a run scored in Sunday's 9-5 loss in Milwaukee.

A day after breaking up Chase Anderson's no-hit bid, Ahmed added two hits in Milwaukee. His RBI double in the eighth inning jump-started a four-run rally for the Diamondbacks, though the deficit proved to be too large. Ahmed has tallied a hit in 12 of his last 16 games, hitting .327 over that stretch.

Story is not in the lineup Sunday against the Cardinals, Jenny Cavnar of Root Sports Rocky Mountain reports.

Story has started all four games since his Wednesday return from a shoulder injury but will give way to the left-handed-hitting Alexi Amarista on Sunday afternoon. Since rejoining the fold, Story is 4-for-14 with two doubles and a home run, collecting a base knock in each of those starts.
