Zachary Neto SS | LAA
Angels' Zach Neto: Goes deep in win
Neto went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 8-6 win over the Giants.
The shortstop has three homers and 10 RBI over 12 contests in June, going 10-for-43 (.233) this month. Neto may not be making consistent contact, but the increased power is a positive nonetheless. He's maintained a .250/.298/.435 slash line with nine homers, 28 RBI, 26 runs scored, eight stolen base and 16 doubles through 67 contests this season.

Miguel Rojas SS | LAD
Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Homers in comeback win
Rojas went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Friday's 4-3 win over the Royals.
Rojas sparked a Dodgers comeback with his fifth-inning homer off Cole Ragans. The long ball was Rojas' first since April 3. The infielder has three multi-hit efforts over his last eight games, but he's also gone hitless three times in that span. For the season, he's at a .280/.330/.449 slash line with three homers, 14 RBI, 13 runs scored and three stolen bases over 115 plate appearances. Rojas appears to be out of the mix for time at third base following the Dodgers' trade for Cavan Biggio. It's likely Rojas will settle into a short-side platoon role at second base going forward, sharing the position with Gavin Lux.

Jose Caballero 2B | NYY
Rays' Jose Caballero: Exits with illness
Caballero was removed from Friday's game against Atlanta due to an illness, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.
Richie Palacios replaced the 27-year-old infielder at second base during the third inning. Caballero is slashing .241/.333/.483 across 33 plate appearances since the beginning of June and will continue to rest as he fights off his sickness.

Oneil Cruz SS | PIT
Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Scratched Friday
Cruz was scratched from the Pirates' lineup ahead of Friday's game versus Colorado due to left ankle soreness, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.
The 25-year-old was initially slated to start at shortstop, but it will instead be Jared Triolo making his first career start at short. Cruz will get some time to recover from a tweaked ankle he suffered during Thursday's contest.

Corey Seager SS | TEX
Rangers' Corey Seager: Returning to lineup
Seager (hamstring) is serving as the Rangers' designated hitter and batting second Friday against the Mariners.
Seager was dealing with tightness in his hamstring while warming up for Thursday's game, and he was scratched from the lineup as a precaution after having missed four games earlier in the week due to hamstring problems. The issue has now subsided ahead of Friday's contest, and he will look to remain hot at the plate after going 8-for-21 with a homer and four RBI in six games since the beginning of June.

Javier Baez SS | DET
Tigers' Javier Baez: Receives injection for back
Baez received an injection to treat lumbar spine inflammation Friday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Baez was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday due to his back injury. He will be re-evaluated early next week before potentially resuming baseball activities. Prior to landing on the IL, the 31-year-old shortstop was slashing .183/.209/.247 with nine doubles, one home run and 25 RBI over 196 plate appearances.

Jackson Holliday SS | BAL
Orioles' Jackson Holliday: To Triple-A IL with elbow injury
Holliday was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Norfolk on Friday with right elbow inflammation, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
It's not clear how long the top prospect might be sidelined. While he's still been drawing plenty of walks in June, Holliday has scuffled a bit overall this month, slashing .212/.422/.394. He sports a .252/.418/.429 line with five homers in 40 games for Norfolk since being demoted. A return to the big leagues had not seemed imminent for Holliday, but the injury will rule out the possibility for a while.
-
Trea Turner SS | PHI
Phillies' Trea Turner: Return might come Monday
Turner (hamstring) could be activated from the 10-day injured list Sunday or Monday, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
While the Phillies have been vague about a timeline for Turner's return, Gelb notes that the shortstop ran again Friday, and while he'll maybe" return Sunday, it will "probably" happen Monday instead, as Philadelphia begins a six-game homestand. Turner has been shelved since early May with a left hamstring strain, and it's looking like he'll skip a rehab assignment.
-
Nick Ahmed SS | TEX
Giants' Nick Ahmed: Returns from injured list
The Giants reinstated Ahmed (wrist) from the 10-day injured list Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Areareports.
Ahmed has been sidelined just over a month by a sprained left wrist but is ready to rejoin the Giants after three rehab appearances in the minors. He was operating as San Francisco's primary shortstop prior to the injury, largely due to his reliable glove, and he has a .236/.274/.291 slash line through 36 games this season.

Casey Schmitt SS | SF
Giants' Casey Schmitt: Optioned to Triple-A
The Giants optioned Schmitt to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
Schmitt saw some action at shortstop after Nick Ahmed (wrist) went down, but Brett Wisely had overtaken him recently and now Ahmed is back in the fold. The 25-year-old Schmitt has produced just a .586 OPS in 102 games so far at the big-league level.
