Lindor went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's win over the Nationals.

The shortstop produced his fourth multi-hit performance in the last seven games as he continues to heat up. Lindor has hit safely in 14 of the last 15 contests, slashing .359/.406/.594 over that stretch with three homers, three steals, seven runs and nine RBI.

Perdomo (knee) started at shortstop and went 1-for-3 with an RBI in a rehab game with Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.

Perdomo's rehab moved from the rookie-level Arizona Complex League to Reno on Wednesday, and the shortstop played seven innings in the field. Per Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com, the Diamondbacks aren't targeting a specific number of games or at-bats for Perdomo; instead, his return date depends on how he feels. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo confirmed Perdomo won't be activated from the 10-day injured list during the upcoming four-game series against the Padres that begin Thursday, but a return next week could be in the cards.

Neto went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Padres.

Neto went 12 games without a homer, hitting .231 (9-for-39) with three doubles in that span. The shortstop's second-inning blast Wednesday ended up giving the Angels enough offense to earn the win. Neto is up to seven homers, eight stolen bases, 23 RBI, 21 runs scored and 13 doubles with a .254/.301/.420 slash line over 60 contests this season.

Volpe went 3-for-5 with a triple and two runs against Minnesota in a 9-5 win Wednesday.

Volpe was responsible for one-third of the Yankees' nine hits in the victory, and he scored twice from atop the team's lineup. It was the fifth time this season the second-year shortstop has collected three or more hits in a game. Volpe had a 21-game hitting streak snapped May 30, but he's picked things right up since then, building a five-game hitting streak during which he's batted .364 (8-for-22).

DeJong went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 7-6 loss to the Cubs.

DeJong is hitting for power with three homers over his last five contests, though he's gone a modest 4-for-18 in that span. The shortstop is up to 10 long balls this season, just four shy of matching his total from 112 contests in 2023. DeJong has added a .226/.276/.446 slash line, 21 RBI, 23 runs scored and two stolen bases over 56 games. He's not a particularly well-rounded hitter, but he's done enough to maintain a starting job.

Manager Bruce Bochy said after Wednesday's game that Seager's (hamstring) removal from Texas' win over Detroit was precautionary, and the team doesn't consider his injury to be anything serious, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Bochy added that Seager will not receive an MRI, and the Rangers will instead wait to see how he feels after Thursday's scheduled off day before deciding whether or not to hold him out for a few games. Should the 30-year-old need to miss any amount of time, Ezequiel Duran would likely be the next man up to start at shortstop.

Seager was removed from Wednesday's game against the Tigers due to left hamstring tightness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.

After extending his on-base streak to 28 games with an RBI single in the second inning of Wednesday's contest, Seager was grabbing at his hamstring before being replaced on first base by Ezequiel Duran. The Rangers will likely take Seager in for imaging, and more information on his status may come following Wednesday's game. The 30-year-old infielder has slashed .300/.395/.627 with 11 home runs and 21 RBI since May 1.

Cruz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.

The lefty-hitting Cruz will move to the bench Wednesday while the Dodgers bring southpaw James Paxton to the hill. He'll cede his spot at shortstop to Nick Gonzales.

Schmitt is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Schmitt started at shortstop in each of the previous four games and went 5-for-12 with a pair of home runs, but he still looks to be stuck in a part-time role with the Giants. He benefited from Thairo Estrada missing three of the previous four games with a thumb injury, resulting in Brett Wisely picking up starts at the keystone on all three occasions. Wisely and Estrada should serve as the Giants' primary middle infielders now that both are healthy, and Schmitt could be at risk of a demotion to Triple-A Sacramento once shortstop Nick Ahmed (wrist) makes his way back from the 10-day injured list.

Wisely is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

The lefty-hitting Wisely will hit the bench for the second day in a row while the Giants face off against another southpaw (Jordan Montgomery). Tyler Fitzgerald will get the nod at shortstop Wednesday, but Wisely should see the majority of the starts at the position while Nick Ahmed (wrist) remains on the injured list.
