Diaz (calf) has yet to resume baseball activities as of Sunday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

The veteran infielder suffered a calf strain while rehabbing from a groin strain last week, and he hasn't played in spring games since late February. Diaz still needs to start a running progression and appears poised to begin the season on the injured list.

Arcia was hit by a pitch on the left hand during Sunday's Grapefruit League game and had X-rays come back negative, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Atlanta will see how Arcia is feeling Monday before determining next steps, but he appears to have avoided a serious injury. The 29-year-old should be considered day-to-day until the team updates his status.

Allen (back) is participating in a minor-league game Sunday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

The 25-year-old hasn't seen Cactus League play since March 1 due to a mild back strain, but he's now on the cusp of returning to action. Allen is expected to begin the season as Oakland's primary shortstop, and he appears on track to be ready for Opening Day.

Shewmake was diagnosed Sunday with a lateral left ankle sprain and is expected to be sidelined 2-to-4 weeks, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The 26-year-old suffered the injury during Saturday's Cactus League contest and will now be unavailable for the rest of camp. Shewmake was in good position to make the White Sox's Opening Day roster as a reserve infielder, but now he's likely to begin the campaign on the injured list.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora said Sunday that Grissom (groin) won't be available for Opening Day but could be ready to make his season debut around "mid-April, probably late April," Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

The 23-year-old's groin strain has never been viewed as a long-term injury, and Cora's comments Sunday reiterate that sentiment. Still, Grissom will miss a couple or few weeks of the regular season, even in the best-case scenario. He's taking part in baseball activities and should continue ramping up his workload during the final days of camp.

Bichette went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Yankees.

The shortstop took Dennis Santana deep in the sixth inning for his first long ball of the spring. Bichette's been making plenty of hard contact in camp though, batting .410 (16-for-39) through 13 games with four doubles in addition to Saturday's blast. He's also swiped two bags in two attempts, an encouraging sign after the 26-year-old went a poor 5-for-8 on steal attempts in 2023.

Dezenzo (wrist) will start at third base and bat eighth Sunday in the Astros' Spring Breakout game against the Cardinals.

Dezenzo hadn't appeared in any Grapefruit League games for the Astros since March 1 while he managed a sore wrist, but his ongoing absence may have been more a byproduct of him not being a realistic candidate to crack Houston's Opening Day roster rather than due to concern about his health. The 23-year-old will be back in action Sunday in a game exclusively featuring prospects and should continue to play in minor-league games on the backfields of camp over the next couple of weeks as he prepares himself for the start of the minor-league season. He'll likely open the 2024 campaign with either Double-A Corpus Christi or Triple-A Sugar Land.

Alexander started at designated hitter and went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's spring game against Texas.

Alexander is still hanging around major-league camp and can't be ruled out of a spot on the Opening Day roster. There isn't an everyday home for the prospect, but the infielder is batting .400 with five extra-base hits and three stolen bases through 18 Cactus League games. If he can handle multiple positions and the Diamondbacks are fine with him not getting regular at-bats, Alexander could be added to the roster. He's appeared in games at second base (12), third base (three), designated hitter (two) and shortstop (one).

Shewmake was removed from Saturday's Cactus League game versus the Mariners with an apparent leg injury, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

It's not clear what happened with Shewmake, but he was seen hobbling back to the dugout after flying out in the top of the fifth inning and was lifted before the bottom of the frame. The White Sox are expected to provide an update on his condition Sunday. If healthy, Shewmake has a good shot to make the Opening Day roster as a reserve infielder.

Perdomo took grounders Saturday after imaging on his left knee came back negative, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Perdomo hurt his knee earlier this week on a slide during Cactus League play, but he's managed to avoid a serious injury. It's not clear when he might be cleared to play in a game, but Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said he's not concerned about his shortstop's availability for Opening Day.
