  • Trent Grisham CF | NYY

Yankees' Trent Grisham: Sitting out versus left-hander

Grisham is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Athletics.

The Yankees are facing a lefty for just the second time this season, and Grisham has been absent from the lineup for both contests. Cody Bellinger will slide over to center field and Randal Grichuk will get the start in left field.

  • Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: First day off Thursday

Chisholm is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest against the Athletics.

The Athletics are sending lefty Jeffrey Springs to the bump, allowing for the left-handed-hitting Chisholm to get his first day off of the season. Amed Rosario will cover second base and bat leadoff for the Yankees.

  • Addison Barger 3B | TOR

Blue Jays' Addison Barger: May only miss minimum

Barger (ankle) might only miss the minimum 10 days on the injured list, MLB.com reports.

The 26-year-old sprained his left ankle after landing on first base awkwardly Sunday while attempting to beat out a grounder, and he was placed on the IL on Tuesday, retroactive to April 6. Barger has been off to a slow start at the plate, batting .053 (1-for-19) through eight games, so the time off could allow him to reset.

  • George Klassen SP | LAA

Angels' George Klassen: Receiving another start

Klassen is slated to start Saturday's game against the Reds in Cincinnati.

Summoned from Triple-A Salt Lake last weekend to make his MLB debut, Klassen faltered in his first start with the Angels, failing to escape the third inning while yielding two earned runs on three hits and five walks. Though the 24-year-old righty's control left much to be desired, he displayed lively stuff, recording four punchouts while finishing with a strong 30.1 percent called-strike-plus-whiff rate. With Ryan Johnson (illness) recently joining Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) and Alek Manoah (finger) on the injured list, Klassen will get at least one more chance to prove that he's worthy of a spot in the big-league rotation.

  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Exiting starting nine

Langeliers is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

Langeliers started each of the Athletics' first 11 games of the season, so he's earned a breather for Thursday's matinee in the Bronx. The A's will turn to Austin Wynns at catcher in the rubber match.

  • Brooks Lee 3B | MIN

Twins' Brooks Lee: Absent from Minnesota lineup

Lee is not in the lineup for Thursday's tilt against the Tigers.

It's a routine day off after Lee had started each of the previous five contests. Tristan Gray will fill in at shortstop and bat eighth for the Twins.

  • Ryan Jeffers C | MIN

Twins' Ryan Jeffers: Out of lineup for matinee

Jeffers is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Tigers.

Jeffers was behind the dish for the past two games, so he'll get a breather in Thursday's matinee. Victor Caratini is catching and batting fifth as the Twins attempt a four-game sweep.

  • Luke Keaschall 2B | MIN

Twins' Luke Keaschall: Getting first day off Thursday

Keaschall is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Tigers.

It's the first day off this season for Keaschall, who has reached base five times and driven in four runs in the first three games of the series. Kody Clemens will get the start at second base and slot into the No. 6 spot in the lineup as the Twins go for the sweep.

  • Mariners' Miles Mastrobuoni: Kicks off rehab assignment

Mastrobuoni (calf) went 0-for-2 with a pair of walks in his first rehab game with Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday.

Mastrobuoni has finally been cleared for games after suffering a right calf strain nearly a month ago. It's unclear how many rehab games the Mariners will ask the utility player to play, but it figures to at least be a handful.

  • Trevor Story SS | BOS

Red Sox's Trevor Story: Records two RBI again

Story went 1-for-3 with two RBI in Wednesday's 5-0 win over Milwaukee.

Story plated runs on a sacrifice fly and a single, giving him three consecutive games with two RBI. All that run production came after the shortstop was dropped from second in the order to fifth. After a bumpy start, Story's now hit in four consecutive games.
