  • Wyatt Langford OF | TEX

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Enters game as pinch runner

Langford (side) entered Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Marlins in the ninth inning as a pinch runner.

Langford was held out of starting lineups Friday and Saturday due to tightness in his side. The Rangers believe running the bases wouldn't impact the injury as other baseball activities might, like twisting his body in the field or swinging a bat. However, Saturday's activity is a positive sign that Langford could return to the starting nine Sunday.

  • Guardians' Daniel Schneemann: Pops homer Saturday

Schneemann went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader sweep of Minnesota. He went 0-for-5 with a run scored in the nightcap.

Schneemann clubbed his 12th home run of the season in the fifth inning of the matinee, his first since Aug. 31. He continues to slot in wherever the Guardians need him and has appeared in 16 of Cleveland's 20 games in September, but he hasn't done much at the plate. Schneemann is slashing .149/.200/.255 with one homer, five RBI and six runs scored this month.

  • Steven Kwan LF | CLE

Guardians' Steven Kwan: Productive in doubleheader

Kwan went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader sweep over the Twins and then 2-for-5 with four RBI in the nightcap.

Kwan's efforts in the matinee didn't lead to any scoring, but he did impact the second game with a pair of two-run singles. The stolen base was his 21st, which tied the career high he set in 2023. Kwan's four-RBI effort upped his season total to 54, which also tied his career high from 2023. He's having a strong September, slashing .310/.376/.369 with 11 RBI, seven steals, 11 runs scored and 10 multi-hit efforts over 20 games.

  • Jake Mangum CF | PIT

Rays' Jake Mangum: Three hits Saturday

Mangum went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI on Saturday against the Red Sox.

Mangum delivered an RBI double in the fourth inning en route to his sixth multi-hit game across 16 starts in September. He's hit .373 for the month, while also chipping in six stolen bases. Mangum doesn't provide much production in terms of power, but he's been an excellent source of batting average and stolen bases across 403 plate appearances for the campaign.

  • Nick Fortes C | TB

Rays' Nick Fortes: Playing time picking up

Fortes went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI on Saturday against the Red Sox.

Fortes started his second straight game behind the plate and has now been in the lineup in eight of the Rays' last 13 games. He has hit .286 with four RBI and two runs scored in that span, which could be enough to maintain a playing time advantage over Hunter Feduccia for the final week of the regular season.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | CHW

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Pops 21st homer

Sosa went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday against the Padres.

Sosa waited until the ninth inning to pop his 21st home run of the season. He's had a mixed performance across the final month of the campaign, as he's collected 10 RBI and nine runs scored across 15 games. However, he's also hit only .200 while striking out at a 34.9 percent clip.

  • Bailey Ober SP | MIN

Twins' Bailey Ober: Rough outing in twin bill

Ober (5-9) took the loss in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader sweep at the hands of the Guardians, coughing up six runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out one.

The right-hander did manage to keep the ball in the park after Cleveland homered five times in the matinee, but there weren't many other silver linings on this performance for Ober. The six runs allowed represented his worst showing since he got tagged for seven runs by the Tigers at the end of June prior to landing on the IL with a hip issue, but Ober's given up at least four runs in four of his last five trips to the mound, sagging to a 6.49 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 22:5 K:BB through 26.1 innings over that stretch. He'll put a disappointing 2025 to bed with one more start, which is scheduled to come on the road next weekend in Philadelphia.

  • Joe Ryan SP | MIN

Twins' Joe Ryan: Mauled by Guardians

Ryan (13-9) took the loss in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader sweep at the hands of the Guardians, giving up five runs (four earned) on six hits -- including four home runs -- and two walks over five innings. He struck out five.

The right-hander has run out of gas in September. The four homers allowed were a season high for Ryan, and over three starts this month he's stumbled to a 9.00 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 11:8 K:BB through 11 innings while serving up six long balls in total. He'll try to end 2025 on a better note in his final outing, which lines up to come on the road next weekend in Philadelphia.

  • George Valera CF | CLE

Guardians' George Valera: Pops first career homer

Valera went 2-for-4 with a double and a solo home run in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader sweep of the Twins.

Getting the start in right field and hitting seventh, Valera took Joe Ryan deep in the second inning, one of four Cleveland long balls off the right-hander in a 6-0 victory. It was Valera's first career big-league homer, and through his first 10 MLB games he's batting .269 (7-for-26) with two doubles, three runs, three RBI and a 4:9 BB:K.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Clubs homer No. 30

Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader sweep of the Twins.

The switch-hitting superstar provided the first run of the day when he took Joe Ryan deep in the first inning of the matinee, kicking off a combined 14-0 shellacking by the Guardians. The long ball was the 30th of the season for Ramirez -- the fourth time in his career he's reached that milestone, and the third time he's produced a 30-30 campaign. He's been a big part of the team's late playoff push, and over his last 17 games including the nightcap, Ramirez is slashing .313/.405/.625 with 11 of his 20 hits going for extra bases (six doubles, one triple, four homers).
