Smith (6-8) yielded six runs on nine hits and a walk over 4.1 innings Tuesday, striking out seven and taking a loss against Baltimore.

Smith worked through two scoreless frames before things unraveled. He was charged with two runs in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings before getting the hook. It was the first time he didn't complete at least five innings since Aug. 1, and he took his first loss since July 6. Smith was 3-0 with a 3.04 ERA over nine starts since that last loss. He's now sporting a 4.06 ERA with a 129:54 K:BB through 135.1 innings on the year. Smith is projected for a road matchup with the Yankees next week.

Akin allowed a hit and struck out two in a scoreless inning to earn a save against the White Sox on Tuesday.

Akin gave up a one-out single to Chase Meidroth before striking out the last two batters he faced to close out the 8-7 win. It was Akin's sixth save in nine chances since the start of August. During that span, he's produced a 3.15 ERA while also adding four holds. For the year, Akin owns a 3.20 ERA with a 56:31 K:BB and six saves through 59 innings.

Teel went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's loss to Baltimore.

Teel got the scoring started with a two-run shot in the first inning. It was his eighth long ball of the year and fourth over his last 12 games. The rookie catcher has gone 29-for-88 (.330) with nine extra-base hits over his last 24 games. Teel has produced an impressive .281/.377/.433 slash line through his first 69 career games.

Henderson went 3-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI in Tuesday's win against the White Sox.

Henderson delivered RBI singles in the third and fifth innings for his first multi-RBI game since Aug. 18. Over his previous 24 games, he had driven in just five runs while producing a .592 OPS. Henderson is still in a power slump and his homerless drought stands at 20 games. He's slashing .272/.348/.440 with 64 RBI and 82 runs scored this season through 604 plate appearances.

Beavers went 2-for-5 with a home run, a triple and three RBI in Tuesday's win against the White Sox.

Beavers knocked an RBI triple in the fifth inning before belting a two-run homer in the seventh. It was his second career long ball and first since Aug. 21, snapping a 20-game drought. Beavers owns a strong .275/.420/.438 slash line with eight extra-base hits and 11 RBI through his first 101 plate appearances, but he has only one steal in two attempts for Baltimore after going 23-for-28 on the basepaths at Triple-A Norfolk prior to his promotion.

Lowe went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's loss to Toronto.

Lowe put the Rays on the board with a somewhat controversial three-run shot in the third inning -- it held up on replay even though a fan was ruled to have reached over the outfield wall and interfered with the play -- and later added an RBI single in the ninth. He snapped a 13-game homerless drought, during which he posted a .503 OPS with 23 punchouts. Lowe now owns a .258/.309/.476 slash line with 29 home runs and 79 RBI through 127 games.

Evans (elbow) walked one and struck out one in a scoreless first inning during his first rehab outing for Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.

Evans threw just 11 of his 22 pitches for strikes, so he wasn't particularly sharp in his first game action in over a month. The right-hander will likely require a handful of appearances in the minor leagues before the Mariners consider reinstating him from the injured list. With the Seattle rotation at full strength, Evans will likely be an option for the bullpen once he's fully recovered from right elbow inflammation unless the AL West-leading club elects to buy some rest for its top starters ahead of the playoffs.

Springer went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's win against the Rays.

Springer knocked three singles in the victory, including a two-run base hit in the second inning. He has a pair of three-hit performances over his last three games and has multiple hits in nine of his last 20 appearances. During that span, he's gone 29-for-79 (.367). Springer owns a terrific .305/.395/.550 slash line with 100 runs scored and 78 RBI through 531 plate appearances.

Berrios did not factor in the decision during Tuesday's win over Tampa Bay. He allowed three runs on four hits and two walks over four innings.

All the damage against Berrios came in the third inning when Brandon Lowe was credited with a three-run homer that stood up on replay, even though a fan was ruled to have interfered with the play by reaching out and catching it. It was Berrios' first start this season in which he did not record a strikeout, and he generated only two whiffs on 78 pitches. He hasn't earned a win since Aug. 12 and has just one quality start over his last eight appearances. During that span, Berrios has produced a 4.86 ERA, raising his season mark to 4.06 alongside a 135:54 K:BB through 164 frames. He's projected for a home matchup with the Red Sox next week.

Hoffman recorded two outs, both by strikeout, to earn a save against the Rays on Tuesday. He gave up a walk and a hit but was not charged with a run.

Hoffman entered a 6-4 game with a runner on third and one out in the ninth inning. The inherited runner scored on an RBI single by Brandon Lowe before Hoffman walked Junior Caminero, but the right-hander rallied to strike out the final two batters he faced. It was Hoffman's 31st save in 38 chances and his first conversion since Sept. 2. He's given up one run over his last 7.2 innings and now owns a 4.64 ERA with an 83:23 K:BB through 64 frames.
