Smith struck out two in a perfect 10th inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 8-6 extra-inning win over the Angels.

Smith was handed a two-run lead after Jose Ramirez's go-ahead double in the top of the 10th and slammed the door for his 35th save of the season. The right-hander worked around the automatic runner without allowing him to score, striking out two during a 15-pitch frame in which he threw 11 strikes. Smith has now earned saves on consecutive days after closing Monday's 4-2 victory over Los Angeles, and he lowered his ERA to 2.40. He's also clinched his last five save chances.

Anthony (finger) went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run for Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday.

Anthony's rehab assignment moved south from Double-A Portland, and he played his first game in Triple-A. Just as Anthony homered in his first game in Portland, he did it again for Worcester. He played all nine innings in left field and looks ready to return. A recent report suggested he could be activated ahead of an important four-game series against the Yankees in New York beginning Friday. Boston interim manager Chad Tracy told Ian Browne of MLB.com earlier this week that he "wouldn't completely rule out" Anthony returning Friday.

Kirby (9-10) earned the win Tuesday over the Phillies, allowing one run on six hits and a walk across 7.2 innings. He struck out nine.

It was an excellent bounce-back outing from Kirby, who had given up 11 runs across eight innings in his previous two starts. The right-hander held Philadelphia to a lone second-inning run and needed just 92 pitches to work into the eighth inning. The 28-year-old Kirby lowered his ERA to 4.02 on the season with a 1.33 WHIP and 126:34 K:BB across 25 starts (147.2 innings) this season. He's currently lined up to face the Red Sox on the road his next time out.

Abreu (5-3) earned the win Tuesday over the Yankees, allowing a run on three hits across one inning.

The Astros turned to Abreu with two outs in the seventh inning, and he got George Lombard to fly out, stranding two runners. After Houston took an 8-6 lead in the top of the eighth, Abreu came back out and promptly gave up a run on back-to-back hits to open the frame. However, he coaxed a double-play ball off the bat of Austin Wells before Josh Hader came on to record the final out. While it's been an up-and-down year overall for Abreu, the right-hander had looked excellent coming into Tuesday's contest, allowing just two runs while posting a 0.96 WHIP with 23 strikeouts across 17.2 innings in his previous 17 appearances. Overall, Abreu's ERA sits at 4.17 through 49.2 inning this season with a 1.45 WHIP and 63:36 K:BB.

Sabrowski (5-2) struck out all three batters he faced in a perfect ninth inning to earn the win in Tuesday's 8-6 extra-inning victory over the Angels.

Sabrowski entered with the game tied at 6-6 and delivered a dominant inning, needing just 13 pitches to strike out the side and send the contest to extra innings. Cleveland then scored twice in the top of the 10th, putting Sabrowski in position for his fifth victory. The left-hander has emerged as one of the Guardians' most reliable bullpen arms this season, and this outing lowered his ERA to 3.08. He hasn't allowed a run in his last nine relief outings, posting a strong 12:3 K:BB across seven innings over that stretch.

Williams didn't factor into the decision in the Guardians' 8-6 extra-inning win over the Angels on Tuesday. He allowed five runs on six hits and a walk while striking out three over 1.1 innings.

Williams endured his shortest start of the season, surrendering a pair of home runs while needing 62 pitches (39 strikes) to record just four outs. Christian Moore and Vaughn Grissom both took him deep as Los Angeles built an early lead, but Cleveland's offense eventually erased the deficit to get Williams off the hook. The right-hander had been pitching reasonably well before Tuesday, but this disastrous outing pushed his ERA from 3.72 to 3.98. He's scheduled to make his next start at home against the Blue Jays.

Antonacci went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, a triple, an RBI and three runs scored Tuesday against the Rangers.

Antonacci stuffed the stat sheet, and he led off the game with a double before coming around to score. Four frames later, he tripled in a run to account for his first extra-base hit in his last nine starts. Antonacci went just 3-for-29 in that span, so this was a needed performance to break out of the brief slump.

Meidroth went 3-for-5 with an RBI on Tuesday against the Rangers.

Meidroth tallied three singles, the second of which drove in a run to put the White Sox up 8-1. It was a needed performance, as he entered Tuesday's game having gone just 5-for-39 across his last 10 games. Meidroth also recorded an RBI for the first time since Aug. 13, a span of 11 starts.

Encarnacion-Strand went 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 13-1 win over the Cardinals.

Encarnacion-Strand took Matthew Liberatore deep for a solo homer in the third inning before adding a two-run single during Baltimore's eight-run fifth. The multi-hit performance was a welcome result after he entered Tuesday mired in a 0-for-15 slump. Since joining the Orioles, Encarnacion-Strand has hit .238 with seven home runs and 25 RBI across 30 games.

Alonso went 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 13-1 win over the Cardinals.

Alonso opened the scoring with a 435-foot three-run homer off Matthew Liberatore in the third inning. In the Orioles' eight-run fifth, He added his season-high fourth hit of the day, an RBI double, before exiting shortly afterward. Alonso has been on a massive power surge, launching eight homers over his last 15 games. Through 571 plate appearances this season, he's slashing .276/.364/.512 with 31 home runs, 24 doubles, 89 RBI, 81 runs scored and five stolen bases
