Thomas went 3-for-3 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Angels.

Thomas gave the Athletics a 4-1 lead in the third inning with his second homer of the season. Both of those long balls have come over his last six games, a span in which he's supplied nine RBI. Thomas is starting to claim a larger role for the Athletics, but it's unclear if he'll be able to hold a starting role against right-handed pitchers. He's batting .255 with a .749 OPS across 53 plate appearances after Friday's strong effort.

Langeliers went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a second RBI and two total runs scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Angels.

Langeliers led off the bottom of the first inning with a homer, and he added an RBI single in the eighth to help the Athletics secure their lead. His power has spiked in August with seven homers over his last 13 games, a span in which he's also batting .386 (22-for-57). The catcher has gone deep 25 times this season, putting him on pace to reach the 30-homer mark for the first time in his career. He's added 55 RBI, 53 runs scored, 21 doubles, five stolen bases and a .274/.320/.549 slash line across 92 contests in a breakout campaign.

Kurtz went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run, a double and three total runs scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Angels.

The long ball was Kurtz's first since his historic four-homer game versus the Astros on July 25. He's been just fine since then, batting .278 with a .724 OPS the 15 games between homers, though he had an 11:20 BB:K in that span as well. The rookie first baseman is up to 24 homers, 65 RBI, 59 runs scored, 21 doubles, two stolen bases and a .305/.384/.631 slash line through 82 contests.

Civale (3-8) took the loss to the Royals on Friday, allowing three runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out three over six innings.

The right-hander ran into trouble early, giving up three hits and a run in the opening frame before surrendering a solo homer to Salvador Perez in the fourth, and again in the sixth when Adam Frazier laced an RBI double to extend Kansas City's lead. After opening August with a dominant outing, the veteran has regressed in back-to-back starts, taking consecutive losses while allowing eight hits in each. Civale will hold a 4.88 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 65:28 K:BB when he faces Atlanta in his next scheduled turn.

Perkins (2-2) allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out seven over five innings to earn the win over the Angels on Friday.

Perkins gave up a two-run home run to Zach Neto in the fifth inning, but the Athletics were able to maintain the lead before turning the game over to the bullpen. This was a fine performance for Perkins, who has now won his last two starts. He has surrendered 10 runs over 14 innings while posting a 16:7 K:BB as a starter after finding success as a multi-inning reliever to begin his big-league career. Overall, he has a passable 4.28 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 35:14 K:BB through 33.2 innings across 11 appearances. Perkins' next start is projected to be on the road versus the Twins.

Cameron (7-5) earned the win over the White Sox on Friday, allowing one run on six hits and two walks while striking out two over 5.1 innings.

Coming off a scoreless performance in his last outing, the left-hander kept his opponents quiet again Friday, with the only damage coming on a solo homer by Lenyn Sosa in the fourth inning. Cameron has now held opponents to one run or fewer in five of his last eight starts, a stretch in which he's gone 5-1 with a 2.12 ERA and 40 strikeouts across 46.2 innings. The rookie southpaw has emerged as a solid presence in Kansas City's rotation and will look to carry the momentum into his next turn against the Rangers.

Carlson went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Friday's 7-0 win over the Astros.

The outfielder extended Baltimore's lead with a 330-foot shot into the Crawford Boxes off Shawn Dubin in the eighth inning, his first home run since June 12 and first extra-base hit since June 22. During the prolonged 31-game homer drought, Carlson went just 13-for-88 with three RBI and five runs scored while struggling to make consistent hard contact. Friday's performance not only snapped the homerless stretch but also marked his second multi-hit effort in his last three games, offering a glimpse of improved form at the plate. On the season, the 26-year-old is slashing .200/.249/.315 with five home runs, 17 RBI and 13 runs scored across 61 games

Valdez (11-6) took the loss against the Orioles on Friday, allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits and one walk while striking out six over 6.2 innings.

The left-hander worked around traffic early but was tagged in the fourth when Coby Mayo launched a solo homer to open the scoring, giving Baltimore a lead Houston would never cut into. Valdez has now yielded at least seven hits in five of his last seven outings as he struggles to limit hard contact. The outing also raised his ERA above 3.00 for the first time since June 24, though he continues to provide Houston with length, completing at least six innings in 19 of his 24 starts this year. Overall, the 31-year-old southpaw owns a 3.01 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 151:50 K:BB through 152.1 innings and will look to get back on track in his next scheduled start against the Tigers.

Woods Richardson (illness) made a rehab start Friday for Triple-A St. Paul, striking out four while allowing one hit and one walk over two scoreless innings.

Woods Richardson was cleared for his first game action since July 28, after he required a procedure earlier this month to remove a parasite from his digestive tract. He tossed 34 pitches in Friday's outing and may need another rehab start or two to get fully stretched out before the Twins bring him back from the 15-day injured list and insert him into the rotation.

Garcia will serve as the Orioles' opening pitcher for Saturday's game against the Astros, Andy Kostka of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Garcia has given up one earned run over 1.2 innings in two appearances since joining the Orioles after being claimed off waivers earlier this month, and the team will now entrust him with his second career MLB start Friday. The 31-year-old is unlikely to cover more than an inning or two, after which Cade Povich is expected to pitch as a bulk reliever.
