Patrick Wisdom 3B | SEA
Mariners' Patrick Wisdom: Drawing third straight start
Wisdom will start at third base and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Orioles.
The Mariners will include Wisdom in the starting nine for third game in a row, with his uptick in playing time coinciding with J.P. Crawford being on the bench for all of those contests due to a bruised hand. Crawford is viewed as day-to-day, and assuming he's able to rejoin the lineup within the next few days, Wisdom will soon be headed back into a reserve role. The 34-year-old Wisdom hasn't been able to do much with his opportunities so far this season, slashing .143/.200/.286 with a 43.3 percent strikeout rate over 30 plate appearances in 10 games with Seattle.

J.P. Crawford SS | SEA
Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Taking seat due to bruised hand
Crawford (hand) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.
The Mariners will keep Crawford on the bench for a third straight game while he's still tending to a bruised right hand, which stems from him being hit by a 95.6-mph fastball during Friday's 7-3 loss to the Tigers. With Crawford taking a seat, the Mariners will once again go with Colt Emerson at shortstop and Patrick Wisdom at third base.

Victor Mesa Jr. RF | TB
Rays' Victor Mesa: On bench against southpaw
Mesa is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
With southpaw Connelly Early on the bump for the Red Sox, the left-handed-hitting Mesa will retreat to the bench. While the Rays faced right-handed starters in each of the last seven games, Mesa was included in the lineup for six of those contests and went 3-for-22 (.136 average) with a 3:8 BB:K, two runs and one RBI during that time.

Richard Palacios 2B | TB
Rays' Richie Palacios: Idle against southpaw
Palacios is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
The Red Sox are sending left-hander Connelly Early to the hill in the series opener, so the left-handed-hitting Palacios will give way to platoon mate Ben Williamson at the keystone. Palacios had started in each of the Rays' previous seven games, batting .154 with a 5:4 BB:K, four runs and two RBI over that stretch.

Nick Fortes C | TB
Rays' Nick Fortes: Playing time picking up
Fortes will start at catcher and bat eighth in Monday's game against the Red Sox, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
Fortes will stay in the starting nine for the fourth time in five games, with three of those starts having come against right-handed pitching. At least for the time being, Fortes appears to have moved out of the short side of a platoon at catcher and seems to have leapfrogged Hunter Feduccia on the depth chart.

Hunter Feduccia C | TB
Rays' Hunter Feduccia: Playing time trending down
Feduccia is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
Feduccia will be on the bench while the Red Sox send southpaw Connelly Early to the bump, but the left-handed-hitting catcher had been left out of the lineup in three of the previous four matchups versus right-handed pitchers. Rather than opting for a platoon at catcher, the Rays may be moving toward leaning more heavily on Nick Fortes behind the dish.

Chandler Simpson LF | TB
Rays' Chandler Simpson: Not cleared to start Monday
Simpson (thumb) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
The Rays will hold Simpson out of the starting nine for a third straight game while he manages a sore left thumb, but as was the case in the prior two contests, he's expected to remain available off the bench. Tampa Bay called up Austin Slater from Triple-A Durham on Monday and will have him cover Simpson's usual spot in left field in the series opener versus Boston.

Yoan Moncada 3B | LAA
Angels' Yoan Moncada: Progresses to running, hitting
Moncada (knee) has been running and hitting off a tee from the left side, per MLB.com.
Moncada was placed on the 10-day IL on May 22 due to right knee inflammation. He's since been able to resume doing some running and hitting, though it's unclear how close he is to returning to game action. Donovan Walton and Nick Madrigal have been handling third base for the Angels while Moncada has been sidelined.

Joe La Sorsa RP | BOS
Red Sox's Joe La Sorsa: Sent out to Triple-A
The Red Sox optioned La Sorsa to Triple-A Worcester on Monday.
La Sorsa was just added to the Boston roster last week and made just one appearance, giving up a solo home run to one of the two batters he faced. The lefty reliever is being replaced on the active roster by utility player Nate Eaton, who was recalled from Worcester.

Clarke Schmidt SP | NYY
Yankees' Clarke Schmidt: Could face hitters in late June
Schmidt (elbow) has been "feeling great" during recent mound sessions and could start throwing to hitters by the end of June, per MLB.com.
Schmidt continues to recover from the internal brace procedure he underwent last July. The right-handed hurler has been throwing from a mound since early April and most recently had a 20-pitch session. If all goes well moving forward, Schmidt could be ready to be activated from the 60-day IL sometime in August.
