The White Sox activated Schultz (knee) from the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Schultz is set to rejoin the rotation Wednesday with a start in Baltimore after missing more than a month with right knee patellar tendinitis. The left-hander made three rehab starts, tossing 74 pitches in his final outing, so it's unlikely he'll have a full workload in his return Wednesday.

The Athletics signed Winkler to a minor-league contract Tuesday.

Winkler had been at Triple-A Sugar Land in the Astros organization but was released after slashing just .184/.260/.306 over 56 contests. The 27-year-old got a dose of major-league experience with the Marlins in 2025 and will give the Athletics utility depth at Triple-A Las Vegas.

Bibee (2-9) took the loss Tuesday as the Guardians fell 4-2 to the Rangers, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits over seven innings. He struck out two without walking a batter.

The right-hander lasted seven innings for the third time in five June outings en route to his 10th quality start of the season, but Bibee got victimized by a mental error in left field from rookie Cooper Ingle -- with a runner on second and one out, Ingle caught a routine flyball that he thought was the final out of the seventh inning. When he threw the ball to a fan, Ezequiel Duran was able to dash home for the game-winning run. Bibee finishes with a 1.89 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB over 33.1 innings in June, and he's lined up for a home matchup this weekend against the White Sox.

Lopez moved from second base to shortstop in the first inning of Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Guardians. He went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Lopez opened the game at second base, but shortstop Corey Seager was pulled from the game in the first inning with back discomfort. Ezequiel Duran might normally take over at shortstop, but he's been needed in the outfield, where both Brandon Nimmo (shoulder) and Wyatt Langford are battling injuries. This was Lopez's second consecutive game playing shortstop.

Pederson went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Guardians.

The veteran slugger got the Rangers on the board in the third inning when he launched a hanging curveball from Tanner Bibee the other way and over the fence in left-center field. Pederson has gone yard five times in his last six games, and after a rough start to the season he's produced a .250/.319/.611 slash line with 11 long balls and 20 RBI over his last 30 contests.

Latz struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Tuesday to record his 18th save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Guardians.

The southpaw continues to dominate as the Rangers' closer. Latz was scored upon in only one of 12 June appearances, posting a 1.13 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 19:4 K:BB over 16 innings on the month while converting all 11 of his save chances. Despite not picking up his first save until late April, Latz sits third in the AL in the category, behind Cleveland's Cade Smith (26) and Tampa Bay's Bryan Baker (21).

Texas manager Skip Schumaker said Tuesday that Nimmo (shoulder) was doing much better and may not need to go on the injured list, Henry Palatella of MLB.com reports.

Apparently, Nimmo did a lot of healing in a 24-hour period. On Monday, Schumaker said the injury could "potentially" lead to Nimmo going on the injured list. The outfielder was held out for a second consecutive game Tuesday and was not available off the bench.

DeGrom (7-5) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing two runs on four hits over seven innings in a 4-2 victory over the Guardians. He struck out nine without walking a batter.

The only blemish on deGrom's line came in the first inning, when Kyle Manzardo jumped on a 98.4 mph first-pitch fastball and launched it over the fence in right-center field for a two-run homer. The veteran right-hander took control after that and didn't let another Cleveland runner get into scoring position until the seventh, when Daniel Schneemann singled and stole second before getting stranded. The quality start was deGrom's fourth in his last five trips to the mound, a stretch in which he sports a 3.48 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 37:7 K:BB over 31 innings. He'll look to stay dialed in for his next outing, which lines up to come at home this weekend against the Tigers.

Manzardo went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Texas.

Manzardo put the Guardians up early with his two-run shot in the first inning off Jacob deGrom. It was the 10th homer of the season for the 25-year-old first baseman, whose bat has come around after a slow start to the season. Manzardo, who posted a .186/.268/.244 slash line through the end of April, has slashed .257/.351/.486 with nine homers and 22 RBI over 48 games since May 1.

Ramirez had stitches removed from his left hand Tuesday and could soon begin swinging a bat as the next step in his rehab process, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Ramirez previously had begun gripping a bat, going through fielding drills and throwing out to 140 feet before Tuesday's milestone. Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt indicated the 33-year-old third baseman is still on the same 5-to-7 week timeline. Ramirez underwent surgery on his left hamate two weeks ago.
