Walton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Walton will hit the bench for the matinee game after he started at second base in each of the Angels' previous three tilts while going a collective 2-for-11 with a double and a 0:5 BB:K. Oswald Peraza will replace him at the keystone Sunday, but Walton may still be viewed as the Angels' preferred option at the position after posting an .847 OPS since being called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on May 22.

Siri is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

Siri returned from the paternity list Saturday but has been left out of the lineup for the Angels' final two games of the weekend. Though he had been serving as the team's everyday outfielder in place of the injured Mike Trout (hamstring) prior to going on paternity leave, Siri may now have to play second fiddle at the position to Josh Lowe. Since being called up from Triple-A Salt lake when Siri was deactivated Wednesday, Lowe has gone 4-for-10 with a stolen base and a run.

Soler is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics.

After making a surprise return from the injured list Monday, Soler served as the Angels' designated hitter for each of the team's ensuing five games and went 4-for-16 with a pair of home runs, four walks, four RBI and three runs. He doesn't appear to have experienced any setbacks with his oblique injury since returning to action, so Soler's absence from the lineup Sunday is likely just a planned rest day.

Muncy will start at third base and bat seventh in Sunday's game against the Angels.

He'll remain in the starting nine for an eighth straight game after going 5-for-23 (.217 average) with a home run, three walks, a stolen base, four RBI and two runs over the prior seven contests. Muncy looks like he'll have a fairly clear path to an everyday role at the hot corner while Zack Gelof (hand) is on the injured list.

Gonzalez (shoulder) is expected to be reinstated from the injured list ahead of Sunday's game against the Yankees, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.

Gonzalez has been on the shelf all season after undergoing shoulder surgery in March, but he's good to join the Red Sox after going 2-for-18 with two walks and a homer during his six-game rehab assignment. The 29-year-old had a career-best .826 OPS in 96 regular-season games last season and could carve out regular playing time in a Boston infield that is without Trevor Story (abdomen), Isiah Kiner-Falefa (forearm), Marcelo Mayer (forearm) and Nick Sogard (oblique).

Bell is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

The Twins will hold Bell out of the starting nine for the second Sunday in a row in a planned rest day. Byron Buxton will get a day off from playing center field but stick in the starting nine as Bell's replacement at designated hitter.

Gray is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

Gray had started the last three games and went 4-for-11 with a double and two runs during that stretch, but he'll cede shortstop to Ryan Kreidler in the series finale. Minnesota has yet to commit to either player as its full-time shortstop, and manager Derek Shelton may be content to ride the hotter bat between the two players until top prospect Kaelen Culpepper is deemed ready for his big-league debut.

Caratini is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rockies.

The Twins will go with Alex Jackson behind the dish for the series finale. Caratini had started at catcher the last five games, going 4-for-19 with a home run, a walk, two RBI and two runs during that time.

Loftin is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox due to a groin contusion, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

During Saturday's 2-1 loss, Loftin went 0-for-3 with a strikeout before being lifted in the bottom of the ninth inning after being struck by a throw to third base from Daniel Lynch. Loftin indicated he's feeling much better Sunday and will be available off the bench, so the 27-year-old would appear to have a good chance at returning to the starting nine Tuesday versus the Rays.

Mesa will start in right field and bat cleanup Sunday against the Diamondbacks.

Though he appeared to be at risk of seeing a steep reduction in playing time after Jonny DeLuca returned from the injured list June 19, Mesa seems to be holding steady as a strong-side platoon player in the Tampa Bay outfield. Mesa will be included in the starting nine for a fourth straight matchup versus a right-hander (Merrill Kelly) after going 3-for-10 with a home run, a double, a walk, three RBI and two runs in the previous three contests.
