Twins' Trevor Larnach: Hits injured list

The Twins placed Larnach on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left hamstring strain.

Larnach's injury and move to the IL will take him out for the final two games of the Twins' season. He'll close the book on 2024 with a .259/.338/.434 slash line alongside 15 homers and 52 RBI, and the Twins will call up DaShawn Keirsey to make up for the lost depth in their outfield.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Suffers fractured finger

Rizzo was diagnosed with a fractured finger after leaving Saturday's game against the Pirates, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Rizzo suffered the injury after getting hit in the hand by a pitch during the seventh inning. Manager Aaron Boone said after the game that Rizzo's injury doesn't necessarily rule him out for the start of New York's playoff run, and the first baseman's availability will depend on pain tolerance. That being said, it's likely he sits out Sunday's regular-season finale.

  • Alex Bregman 3B | HOU

    Astros' Alex Bregman: Idle Saturday

Bregman isn't in the Astros' lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.

  • Yainer Diaz C | HOU

Astros' Yainer Diaz: Taking seat Saturday

Diaz isn't in the Astros' lineup for Saturday's game against the Guardians.

Diaz will get a rare off day Saturday as the Astros elect to rest many of their regular starters with the postseason just around the corner. In his place, Victor Caratini will pick up a start behind the dish and bat third.

  • Red Sox's Masataka Yoshida: Absent from lineup

Yoshida isn't in the Red Sox's lineup for Saturday's game against Tampa Bay.

Yoshida went 1-for-11 while starting each of Boston's last three games, and he'll get a chance to catch his breath Saturday. Mickey Gasper will work as Boston's DH and bat fifth.

  • Red Sox's Ceddanne Rafaela: Getting rest Saturday

Rafaela isn't in Boston's lineup Saturday versus the Rays.

Rafaela is just 5-for-35 with five RBI over his last 10 games and will grab a seat on the bench to begin Saturday's contest. Vaughn Grissom will get the nod to start at second base and bat ninth.

  • Connor Wong C | BOS

Red Sox's Connor Wong: Idle Saturday

Wong isn't in the Red Sox's lineup for Saturday's game versus the Rays.

Wong went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts during Friday's series opener and will now sit down for the penultimate game of Boston's season. His absence will put Danny Jansen behind the plate to catch for right-hander Kutter Crawford.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Leaves game after HBP

Rizzo was removed from Saturday's game against the Pirates after getting hit in the hand by a pitch, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Rizzo took an 88-mph slider off his right hand during the seventh inning. He initially remained in the game to run the bases but was replaced on defense once New York took the field to begin the eighth. The severity of his injury remains unknown, but if he ends up having to miss Sunday's season finale, Oswaldo Cabrera would likely be the next man up to start at first base for the Yankees.
