Guardians' Andrew Walters: Tosses 1.2 scoreless as opener
Walters tossed 1.2 scoreless innings and did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Guardians.
Walters served as the opener in a bullpen game and retired all five batters he faced while throwing 13 of 20 pitches for strikes. The 23-year-old has not surrendered a hit or earned run through his first 7.2 major-league innings while posting a 6:4 K:BB.

Adolis Garcia RF | TEX
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Slugs 24th homer
Garcia went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Wednesday's win over Oakland.
Garcia singled in his first trip to the plate before swatting a two-run homer in the third to extend the Rangers' lead to four runs. It marked the second-consecutive two-hit effort for the outfielder and his sixth multi-hit performance this month. Although he's batting just .235 in September, Garcia has gone 11-for-33 (.333) over his last eight games with two long balls, eight RBI and four runs scored.

Wyatt Langford LF | TEX
Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Homer, steal in win
Langford went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer and a stolen base in Wednesday's win over the Athletics.
Langford cracked a two-run shot off Brady Basso in his first at-bat to put the Rangers on the board and later added a single in the fourth before swiping his 17th bag of the campaign. It marked the seventh multi-hit performance for the outfielder this month, where he's now batting .306 with six homers, 17 RBI, 20 runs and five stolen bases. Langford has also homered in two of his last three games, collecting five RBI over that stretch while scoring three times.

Brady Basso SP | OAK
Athletics' Brady Basso: Allows five runs in first loss
Basso (1-1) took the loss against Texas on Wednesday, allowing five runs on six hits and one walk over three innings while striking out three.
Basso ran into a buzz saw in the first inning, allowing five-consecutive batters to reach to open things up while seeing three early runs come home for Texas. The lefty then got tagged for a two-run homer in the third after giving up a leadoff single to begin the frame and he would not return for the fourth. Basso had gone at least into the fifth inning in three straight starts coming in, allowing three or fewer runs on each occasion. However, Wednesday's five runs allowed marked a season high for the 26-year-old, as did the two long balls he surrendered in the contest.

Cody Bradford SP | TEX
Rangers' Cody Bradford: Runs up pitch count early
Bradford did not factor into the decision in a win over Oakland on Wednesday, allowing one run on six hits and three walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out four.
Bradford struggled with his command out of the gate, allowing two hits in each of the first two innings while also allowing a runner to advance on a wild pitch in the third. The southpaw was later relieved by Matt Festa with two outs in the fourth after the former reached 90 pitches on the night. Bradford has now failed to make it through four innings in two of his last three starts after previously going five or more innings in six straight. On a positive note, he's also given up one run or fewer in three of his last four outings.

Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Belts homer Wednesday
Buxton went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday in an 8-3 victory versus the Marlins.
Buxton tied the score 3-3 in the fourth inning with a massive 450-foot blast. The outfielder notched his third multi-hit effort over a five-game hitting streak during which he's batting .381 (8-for-21). However, Wednesday's long ball accounted for just the second RBI by Buxton over that span.

Simeon Woods Richardson SP | MIN
Twins' Simeon Woods Richardson: Gets just three outs Wednesday
Woods Richardson allowed three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out two batters over one-plus inning in a no-decision against Miami on Wednesday.
Woods Richardson had an awful first frame, falling behind 3-0 after three batters on a home run by Jake Burger. He gave up two consecutive hits after the long ball -- in all, Miami's first five batters of the game reached base against him -- but Woods Richardson managed to bounce back and retire the next three hitters, including two by strikeout, to escape without allowing any more runs. The right-hander returned for the second inning and yielded a single to each of the first two batters before he was given the hook. The outing was the shortest of the season for Woods Richardson and continued a recent trend of abbreviated starts. He hasn't completed five frames in any of his past six appearances.

Lenyn Sosa 3B | CHW
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Swats solo shot
Sosa went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an additional run and a double in Wednesday's 4-3 win against the Angels.
Sosa broke a 2-2 tie with a solo homer to left field in the fourth inning. It was his third long ball over his past eight games, a span during which he's batting .360 (9-for-25) with five RBI and five runs. Sosa's hot stretch has extended beyond that span, as he's hitting .373 overall in September.

Korey Lee C | CHW
White Sox's Korey Lee: Goes deep in victory
Lee went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run and two walks in Wednesday's 4-3 win against the Angels.
Lee opened the scoring in the contest with a two-run blast off Jose Suarez in the second inning. Discarding Tuesday's contest during which Lee played only as a late defensive replacement and didn't log a plate appearance, it was the second straight game with a long ball for the backstop. Prior to that, Lee had undergone a stretch of 27 contests without a home run.

Jose Suarez RP | LAA
Angels' Jose Suarez: Fans five in no-decision
Suarez allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out five batters over five innings in a no-decision against the White Sox on Wednesday.
All of Chicago's runs against Suarez came via the long ball -- the left-hander gave up a two-run shot to Korey Lee in the second inning and a solo blast to Lenyn Sosa in the fourth. It was the only time this season Suarez gave up multiple homers in an outing. That's partly due to the fact that he spent much of the campaign as a reliever, though he came into Wednesday having yielded just two long balls over his past 36 frames. Suarez returned Sept. 9 from an extended stay on the injured list and had held his opponents without an earned run over 13 frames prior to giving up Lee's second-inning blast Wednesday.
