    Athletics' Max Muncy: Resting Wednesday

Muncy isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Muncy has gone 1-for-8 with a walk, two RBI and a run scored in two games since returning from the injured list. He'll move to the bench to begin Wednesday's series finale, allowing Alika Williams to start at shortstop while batting ninth.

  • Denzer Guzman 3B | LAA

    Angels' Denzer Guzman: Idle Wednesday

Guzman isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Guzman will retreat to the bench for Wednesday's series finale after going 0-for-10 with an RBI and two strikeouts through the first two games. Nick Madrigal will start at third base and bat sixth while Guzman sits.

  • Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA

Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Sitting out Wednesday

Schanuel (calf) isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against Houston, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Schanuel took a pitch off his leg in the first inning of Tuesday's game, and he was later pulled when his calf began to tighten up. He'll get a day off to recover Wednesday, allowing Trey Mancini to start at first base.

  • Ben Joyce RP | LAA

Angels' Ben Joyce: Yet to throw off mound

Joyce (shoulder) has been throwing at the Angels' facility in Arizona but has yet to resume mound work, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Joyce has been on the injured list all year while on the mend from a shoulder procedure he underwent in May 2025. He was initially cleared to begin a rehab assignment in late April but was shut down when his shoulder began failing to recover in between outings. He resumed throwing in late May, but the Angels are seemingly taking things slowly while building the 25-year-old back up. It's unclear how far away he is from beginning another rehab assignment.

  • Royals' Michael Massey: Idle against southpaw

Massey is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Royals manager Matt Quatraro will send Massey and fellow left-handed hitter Carter Jensen to the bench Wednesday while southpaw MacKenzie Gore takes the hill for the Rangers. With Massey sitting, Nick Loftin will pick up a start at second base and will bat eighth.

  • Royals' Carter Jensen: Riding pine against lefty

Jensen is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

Royals manager Matt Quatraro will send Jensen and fellow left-handed hitter Michael Massey to the bench Wednesday while southpaw MacKenzie Gore takes the hill for the Rangers. With Jensen sitting, Salvador Perez will handle the catching duties, while Starling Marte serves as Kansas City's designated hitter.

  • Angels' Jack Kochanowicz: Moves to 60-day IL

The Angels transferred Kochanowicz (elbow) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Kochanowicz is slated to undergo Tommy John surgery after recently being diagnosed with a torn UCL in his right elbow, so a move to the 60-day IL was expected. He'll finish the 2026 campaign with a 6.19 ERA and 1.58 WHIP across 64 innings (13 starts) and will likely remain out until late 2027 or early 2028.

  • Logan Porter C | LAA

    Angels' Logan Porter: Contract selected

The Angels selected Porter's contract from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old backstop will join the big club to replace Sebastian Rivero, who landed on the injured list Wednesday with a hamate fracture. Porter has slashed .241/.292/.362 with 10 RBI and nine runs in 65 plate appearances at Triple-A this season, though he hasn't played since signing a minor-league deal with the Angels last week. He isn't likely to see much playing time with the big club either behind regular starter Logan O'Hoppe.

  • Sam Antonacci LF | CHW

White Sox's Sam Antonacci: Sitting against Sale

Antonacci is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Derek Hill will receive the starting nod in left field over the left-handed-hitting Antonacci, who will hit the bench while southpaw Chris Sale toes the rubber for Atlanta. Since being called up from Triple-A Charlotte on April 15, Antonacci has gone just 3-for-33 with a 1:10 BB:K in 40 plate appearances versus lefties.

  • White Sox's Andrew Benintendi: Idle against southpaw

Benintendi is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

With a tough lefty (Chris Sale) on the bump for Atlanta, the left-handed-hitting Benintendi will retreat to the bench. Randal Grichuk will enter the lineup as Benintendi's replacement at designated hitter.
