Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Wednesday that Torres (oblique) is still unable to swing a bat at full effort, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Torres' left oblique strain no longer gives him any trouble during fielding drills, but the second baseman won't be sent out on a rehab assignment until he can swing a bat at full speed without discomfort. He should be in line for a quick turnaround once he clears that hurdle, but for now, Torres is in a holding pattern in his recovery.

Bazzana is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Bazzana will head to the bench for just the second time since his April 28 call-up from Triple-A Columbus, clearing the way for Daniel Schneemann to pick up a start at the keystone. Over his first 19 big-league games, Bazzana has held his own at the dish, slashing .299/.427/.403 with two home runs, seven stolen bases, 10 runs and nine RBI. The Guardians have rewarded Bazzana for his early success by moving him up in the batting order; he's made three of his last four starts out of the No. 5 spot after mostly batting sixth or seventh prior to that.

Manzardo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

The Guardians typically hold the left-handed-hitting Manzardo out against left-handed starters, but he'll miss out on a start Wednesday against right-hander Drew Anderson. Cleveland will go with Rhys Hoskins at first base as the replacement for Manzardo.

Massey is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

He'll hit the bench for the second day in a row while the Red Sox send another lefty starter (Connelly Early) to the hill. Nick Loftin will pick up a start at second base in place of Massey.

Jensen is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

After starting and going 1-for-3 with a double in Tuesday's 7-1 loss while southpaw Ranger Suarez took the bump for Boston, the left-handed-hitting Jensen will move to the bench for the series finale. Elias Diaz will fill in for Jensen behind the dish as the Red Sox send another southpaw (Connelly Early) to the bump.

Jones is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.

Jones is just 3-for-20 with 11 strikeouts early on in his first stint in the big leagues, and he's now started only two of the last five contests. Ben Rice is getting a start at designated hitter Wednesday, and Paul Goldschmidt will cover first base for the Bronx Bombers.

Pasquantino is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox.

After starting and going 0-for-3 with a walk in Tuesday's 7-1 loss while southpaw Ranger Suarez took the bump for Boston, the left-handed-hitting Pasquantino will move to the bench for the series finale. Salvador Perez will fill in for Pasquantino at first base as the Red Sox send another southpaw (Connelly Early) to the bump.

Perez is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Guardians.

Perez will begin the contest on the bench after starting each of the last four games. Zach McKinstry will draw the start in right field for the Tigers.

Torkelson is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Guardians.

Torkelson homered in Tuesday's loss to Cleveland, but he's struggled in May with a .136/.235/.288 batting line and 42.6 percent strikeout rate. Colt Keith will cover first base for the Tigers while Torkelson regroups.

Vargas could be available off the bench Wednesday in Seattle after X-rays on his hand came back negative, Brooke Fletcher of Chicago Sports Network reports.

Vargas was hit by a Luis Castillo offering in Tuesday's win over the Mariners. He was able to stay in that contest and has avoided a serious injury, but Vargas will get a day out of the lineup in Wednesday's series finale. The White Sox will start Colson Montgomery and Luisangel Acuna on the left side of their infield.
