Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Friday on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM that Springer (toe) could return in "a couple more days... maybe just even a day or two."

Springer is eligible to come off the 10-day injured list for the start of Friday's series with the Guardians, but it doesn't sound like he's going to get the green light to meet that timeline. A return to action by Sunday could be in the cards, however. Springer has been out since fracturing a toe April 11, but he's been hitting and doing mobility drills over the past week. The veteran slugger was batting .185 (10-for-54) through 14 games with two homers and six RBI when he fouled a ball off his foot.

The Twins optioned Rojas to Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.

With Kody Funderburk back from paternity leave, Rojas will head back to the minors. Rojas made his major-league debut in Wednesday's loss to the Mets, allowing two hits and three walks across two scoreless innings.

The Twins reinstated Funderburk from the paternity list Friday.

Minnesota optioned Kendry Rojas to Triple-A St. Paul to open a spot on the 26-man roster for Funderburk, who owns a 2.00 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 8:7 K:BB across nine innings this season. Funderburk has also recorded four holds and one save.

Triple-A Las Vegas placed Nett on the 7-day injured list March 27 with a rotator cuff injury, David Laurila of FanGraphs reports.

Nett boasts seven distinct pitches and mid-90s fastball velocity when healthy, but he hasn't yet made his 2026 debut for the Aviators. The 23-year-old righty logged a 3.75 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 116:48 K:BB in 105.2 innings over 24 starts at Double-A last year, split between the Padres and Athletics organizations, and was part of the package the A's received for Mason Miller.

Pearson (elbow) permitted one run on one hit and four walks over two innings in his first rehab start with Triple-A Sugar Land on Thursday.

Pearson hit some bumps in the road in his recovery from an offseason cleanup surgery on his pitching elbow, but he's finally ready for game action. Given that he threw 53 pitches in his first rehab outing, it seems Pearson will be stretched out as a rotation option for the Astros. That means his rehab assignment will take longer, though the club could alter plans and activate him as a reliever if a need arises in the bullpen.

Seager went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in a 6-1 victory versus the Pirates on Thursday.

Seager broke the game open in the fourth inning, belting a three-run shot to right field to give the Rangers a 6-0 lead. The veteran shortstop had been in the midst of a mini-slump coming into the contest, going just 1-for-15 at the plate with six strikeouts over his previous four games. Seager hasn't been hitting to his usual standard this season, slashing just .207/.317/.448 through 104 plate appearances, but he does have six homers, 16 RBI and 17 runs along with one stolen base.

DeGrom (2-0) earned the victory over Pittsburgh on Thursday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out 10 batters over 5.2 innings.

DeGrom dominated for most of his outing, racking up 20 whiffs and a season-high 10 punchouts. The only blemish on his line was an Oneil Cruz solo homer in the fifth inning. Fantasy managers who deployed deGrom will likely be celebrating this performance, though there is minor disappointment in the fact that he was pulled one out shy of a quality start despite having thrown a modest 89 pitches. Texas seems hesitant to allow the veteran hurler to push his pitch count too high -- he's topped out at 93 pitches this season and has thrown less than 80 in two of his five starts -- but deGrom has nonetheless been excellent to begin the campaign, posting a 2.13 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 35:7 K:BB through 25.1 innings.

Gray went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Thursday's loss to the Mets.

Gray swatted a solo shot to right-center field in the sixth inning and added a run-scoring single in the ninth. This was his first start in Minnesota's past three games, which coincides with the return of Royce Lewis to the lineup following a stint on the injured list. Gray doesn't seem to be in line for an everyday role, but he's been a pleasant surprise for the Twins early in the campaign, slashing .268/.311/.512 with three homers, 13 RBI and five runs through 46 plate appearances.

Jeffers went 1-for-4 with a grand slam and two walks in a loss to the Mets on Thursday.

Jeffers came up with a clutch hit in the top of the eighth inning, belting a grand slam to left field to tie the score 7-7. Minnesota eventually went on to lose the game, but it was a big moment for the backstop, who had just two hits over his previous 19 at-bats prior to the homer. On the season, Jeffers is slashing .267/.405/.483 with three long balls, 16 RBI, 12 runs and a 13:14 BB:K through 74 plate appearances.

Ryan allowed seven runs (four earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out five batters over five innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Thursday.

Ryan scuffled from the outset, giving up a three-run homer to Brett Baty in the first inning. He gave up three more runs in the second, though a passed ball on a strikeout led to all three runs being unearned. Ryan served up another long ball in the fourth frame and was pulled after the fifth inning having thrown 92 pitches. This was the first time in 2026 that Ryan gave up more than one homer in a game -- in fact, he had yielded just one long ball in total over his first five starts spanning 27.1 innings. He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, which lines up to come at home against Seattle.
