Jim Jarvis SS | ATL
Braves' Jim Jarvis: Receives first big-league call-up
Atlanta selected Jarvis' contract from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.
Outfielder Jose Azocar was designated for assignment in order to clear room on the 40-man roster for Jarvis, who will be making his MLB debut if and when he gets into a game. Though he's primarily been used at shortstop during his minor-league career, Jarvis has experience at second base and third base and is likely to serve as a utility infielder for Atlanta. Jarvis has shown excellent contact skills, plate discipline and speed during his time with Gwinnett this season, posting a .305/.418/.445 batting line while notching 15 steals in 17 attempts over 153 plate appearances.

Joe Mack C | MIA
Marlins' Joe Mack: Collects first big-league hits
Mack went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's loss to the Orioles.
A third-inning single by the rookie catcher brought home Kyle Stowers, giving Mack his first hit and RBI in MLB, and he added another knock in the eighth. The 23-year-old top prospect will get a long look in the starting role from the Marlins, with Liam Hicks -- who got the start at first base Tuesday before taking over behind the plate for the top of the ninth after Mack was lifted for a pinch runner -- seeing more of his playing time at 1B and DH as a result.

Robby Snelling SP | MIA
Marlins' Robby Snelling: Set for promotion Friday
Snelling appears on track to be called up from Triple-A Jacksonville to start Friday against the Nationals after Braxton Garrett took his regular turn through the Jacksonville rotation Tuesday, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Snelling's next turn for Jacksonville is set to come Friday, so he was always the more likely candidate to get called up to take the spot of Chris Paddack, who was designated for assignment Tuesday. Snelling has had an outstanding start to the season at Triple-A, posting a 1.86 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 44:15 K:BB through 29 innings.

Braxton Garrett SP | MIA
Marlins' Braxton Garrett: Takes regular turn at Triple-A
Garrett made his regularly scheduled start for Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out six.
Keeping the southpaw on turn at Triple-A all but rules him out for a call-up Friday to join the Marlins' rotation in place of Chris Paddack. Garrett will likely get his chance to face big-league hitters later this summer, but for now it's Robby Snelling who's in line for the promotion this weekend. Garrett sports a 2.30 ERA, 0.80 WHIP and 32:15 K:BB through 31.1 innings this season for Jacksonville.

Will Smith C | LAD
Dodgers' Will Smith: Exiting starting nine
Smith is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Houston.
Smith started at catcher in the first two games of the series, so he will get some rest during Wednesday's matinee. Dalton Rushing will be behind the dish and bat seventh in the rubber match.

Dax Fulton P | MIA
Marlins' Dax Fulton: Added to big-league bullpen
The Marlins recalled Fulton from Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday.
Fulton has made five starts and two relief appearances with Jacksonville this season, collecting a 7.65 ERA and 24:11 K:BB over 20 frames. The southpaw will be used out of the bullpen and will be making his major-league debut if/when he gets into a game.

William Kempner SP | MIA
Marlins' William Kempner: Sent back to minors
The Marlins optioned Kempner to Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Kempner was summoned Tuesday from the minors and made his major-league debut in Miami's 9-7 loss to Baltimore with a perfect inning out of the bullpen. He'll make room on the roster for a fresh bullpen arm in Dax Fulton, who was called up from Jacksonville in a corresponding move.

Logan Henderson SP | MIL
Brewers' Logan Henderson: Headed for another start
Henderson is slated to start Sunday's game against the Yankees at American Family Field, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
The 24-year-old righty will unsurprisingly stick around in the rotation for another turn after a stellar showing in Washington this past weekend, when he struck out eight Nationals and allowed two earned runs on three hits and no walks over six innings. With Quinn Priester (shoulder/wrist) recently getting pulled off his rehab assignment following a setback and with Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) facing an uncertain timeline for a return, Henderson should be in line for an extended look in the big-league rotation. Through his first seven starts in the majors dating back to last season, Henderson has performed at an elite level with a 2.43 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 44:9 K:BB in 33.1 innings.

Jacob Misiorowski SP | MIL
Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Taking hill Friday vs. Yankees
Misiorowski (hamstring) will start Friday's series opener versus the Yankees at American Family Field, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Despite making an early exit in his most recent outing last Friday against the Nationals due to a hamstring cramp, Misiorowski was able to go through his typical between-starts regimen and appeared on track to take the hill on four days' rest in Wednesday's series finale in St. Louis. However, a rainout Tuesday resulted in all of Milwaukee's starters being pushed back a day, and with the Brewers off Thursday, Misiorowski is now lined up to start the series opener versus the Yankees. The 24-year-old righty will carry a 2-2 record, 2.84 ERA and 1.00 WHIP into Friday's start.
