Rea (2-0) earned the win Tuesday against the Phillies, allowing three runs on four hits and no walks with five strikeouts across six innings.

Riley Martin served as the opener for the Cubs in this one, firing a hitless and scoreless first inning on six pitches before Rea took over on the mound in the bottom of the second. Rea doesn't have overpowering stuff but was able to keep the Philly offense off-balance with his seven-pitch mix across 87 total pitches. Once Matthew Boyd (biceps) returns, perhaps as early as next Monday, Rea projects to remain in the rotation for the Cubs over Javier Assad after Assad was blasted for nine runs on 11 hits over 4.1 innings in Monday's loss to the Phillies. Rea has a 3.63 ERA and 15:3 K:BB across 17.1 innings and is in line to start Sunday at home against the Mets.

Sosa went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 10-4 loss to the Cubs.

Sosa blasted homer No. 1 on the campaign, taking Cubs right-hander Colin Rea deep in the second inning. While the righty-hitting infielder is stuck in a short-side platoon, he's been effective when deployed so far this season. Sosa has gone 5-for-17 (.294) with three extra-base hits, five RBI and two walks over eight games.

Marsee went 2-for-3 with an RBI single, a run scored and a steal during Tuesday's 6-5 loss to Atlanta.

Marsee scored the game's first run in the first inning on an Agustin Ramirez sacrifice fly, and the former gave the Marlins a 4-0 lead in the second on an RBI single before stealing second base. Marsee is batting just .174 across 81 plate appearances to open the season, but his eight steals are tied with Jose Ramirez and Bobby Witt for most in the majors, with four of those swipes coming against the Reds on April 7. Marsee's two triples are also tied for second most in MLB behind Corbin Carroll (three).

Montgomery will serve as Pittsburgh's opening pitcher in Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Danny Demilio of PittsburghBaseballNow.com reports.

Montgomery got off to a rough start this season with four earned runs allowed over his first 3.1 innings, but he has since given up one run in his last 4.1 frames. The Pirates will now entrust him with working the first inning or two of Wednesday's contest before turning the ball over to Carmen Mlodzinski, who will work in bulk relief.

Meyer did not factor into Tuesday's decision against Atlanta. He allowed three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out five across five innings.

Meyer gave up two RBI doubles in the third inning but was in line for his second win of the season after the Marlins grabbed a 5-3 lead. However, he had to settle for the no-decision after Pete Fairbanks yielded a bases-clearing, three-run double to Dominic Smith late in the contest. Meyer generated 14 whiffs and seven groundouts while recording 55 strikes on 82 pitches (67.1 percent) during Tuesday's outing. He has three no-decisions through four starts while logging a 4.12 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 20:9 K:BB across 19.2 innings. Meyer is tentatively slated to start next weekend at home against the Cardinals.

Hoerner went 2-for-6 with a run scored and three RBI in Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Phillies.

Hoerner has been off to a hot start with a .303/.397/.455 slash line through 17 games. The Cubs have responded by moving the speedy infielder up to the leadoff spot, and it looks like a move that could stick for a while based on his sustained good play. Hoerner has also contributed five steals in five attempts, and his ability on the bases is what largely drives his fantasy value.

Bregman went 3-for-5 with three RBI in Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Phillies.

All three of Bregman's hits were singles, but fantasy managers won't complain about the third baseman's fourth multi-hit effort of the year through 17 games. Overall, Bregman is batting .243 with only a .659 OPS. He posted an .822 OPS last season in Boston, and his bat will likely continue to heat up as the year progresses. Bregman has also played in all of Chicago's games so far, making his playing time look very secure.

Fairbanks (0-1) blew the save and took the loss during Tuesday's game against Atlanta. He allowed three runs on three hits while striking out one batter across one inning.

The Marlins brought out Fairbanks for the bottom of the eighth while holding a 5-3 lead. He retired two of the first three batters he faced before loading the bases, and he was unable to get out of the frame unscathed after yielding a bases-clearing double to Dominic Smith. Fairbanks collected a save in two of his first three outings of the season while striking out five batters across three innings. However, he has allowed three earned runs in each of his last two appearances. If Fairbanks can't figure out his command, then that might force the Marlins look to other closing options out of the bullpen such as Michael Petersen, Tyler Phillips, Calvin Faucher or Anthony Bender.

Kelly went 2-for-4 with a walk, a three-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 10-4 win over the Phillies.

Just like he did last year, Kelly is off to a scorching hot start in 2026 with a .333 batting average and .922 OPS through 15 games. However, unlike 2025, the power hasn't been there for the catcher in the early going, as this was his first home run of the year. Kelly still seems to be locked in at the plate, and he should remain Chicago's top backstop ahead of Miguel Amaya, giving the former plenty of fantasy utility.

Lopez did not factor into Tuesday's decision against the Marlins, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks while striking out six across five innings.

Lopez was back in the rotation for Atlanta after serving his five-game suspension. He got off to a rough start by allowing four runs through the first two innings, but he settled in to keep the Marlins off the board for the rest of his outing. Lopez generated only five whiffs on 96 pitches (53 strikes) but struck out five of the last 10 batters he faced. Through four starts, Lopez has a 2.18 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB over 20.2 innings. His next start is tentatively slated for this weekend on the road against the Phillies.
