O'Brien yielded two hits in a scoreless frame to pick up his first hold of the season in Saturday's extra-inning win over the Rays.

O'Brien was first out of the bullpen for the Cardinals in the seventh inning, called upon to protect a two-run lead after Michael McGreevy spun six no-hit frames. Junior Caminero broke up the combined no-hit effort by singling on the first pitch he saw but was immediately erased with a double play. O'Brien then yielded an infield single but finished off the inning with a groundout. The 31-year-old has now registered a win and a hold in his first two appearances, but the first two save chances for the Cardinals have gone to Ryne Stanek.

Happ went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Saturday's 10-2 win over the Nationals.

Happ batted third and connected for his first home run of the season in the sixth inning. The veteran outfielder blasted 23 long balls during the regular season last year, and he's hit 20 or more in four of the last five seasons while playing at least 148 games each year. Happ should continue to serve as an offensive catalyst for the Cubs batting near the top of the order.

Amaya went 2-for-4 with a home run, an additional run scored and two total RBI in Saturday's 10-2 win over the Nationals.

After ceding the Opening Day start behind the dish to Carson Kelly, Amaya started Chicago's second game of the year and made quite the impact from the No. 9 spot in the order. The 27-year-old catcher was limited to only 28 games last season due to injuries, and he missed the team's entire postseason run. Amaya said he felt fully healthy during spring training, and if he can stay off the IL, he should split time with Kelly behind the plate.

Myers went 1-for-1 with an RBI in Saturday's 6-5 extra-innings win over the Red Sox.

Myers played the hero with a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning. He entered the game in the ninth inning as a defensive substitution and stuck around after Emilio Pagan blew the save. Myers has come off the bench in two straight games to begin the year, having served as a pinch hitter for Will Benson in the Reds' Opening Day loss.

De La Cruz went 1-for-4 with two walks and a solo home run in Saturday's 6-5 extra-innings win over the Red Sox.

De La Cruz clubbed his first home run of the season in the fifth inning to give Cincinnati a 5-3 lead. The shortstop, who clouted 20-plus home runs in each of his first two full MLB seasons, is looking to rebound from a second-half dip in production in 2025. To that end, Reds manager Terry Francona stated it was an organizational goal to keep De La Cruz fresh, so he may get more rest this season.

Carroll went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Carroll, who was in right field for all three games in the series, was largely limited to DH duties in spring training after his return from February surgery to repair a broken hamate bone in his right hand. He had just 21 plate appearances (19 at-bats) during a shortened Cactus League, so there may be early struggles while Carroll gets his timing down. He's 2-for-11 with two singles and two strikeouts through three contests.

Sewald retired the lone batter he faced in the eighth inning of Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Arizona led 2-1 in the eighth inning with Sewald warming up in the bullpen, presumably to save the game in the ninth, but he never got the chance after Juan Morillo allowed a two-run home run, setting up Sewald to get the final out of the inning in a non-save situation. It was the veteran right-hander's first appearance of the season.

Morillo (0-1) was tagged with the loss Saturday, allowing two runs on one hit and one walk over two-thirds of an inning in a 3-2 loss to the Dodgers.

Morillo got the first two outs in the eighth inning before walking Mookie Betts, which set the stage for Will Smith's two-run home run. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo has tabbed Morillo as an option against lefty batters in Arizona's all-righty bullpen, and he successfully navigated Shohei Ohtani and Kyle Tucker before giving up the runs.

Smith went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 3-2 win against Arizona.

It was a big day for the All-Star catcher, who not only celebrated his 31st birthday but also was the subject of a bobblehead giveaway at Dodger Stadium. After failing to reach base in his first three plate appearances, Smith came through in the clutch, smacking a two-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning to flip a one-run deficit into a one-run lead. Smith's 2025 campaign concluded with a game-winning homer in Game 7 of the World Series, and he's off to a fast start in 2026, slashing .273/.273/.818 with two long balls and five RBI through three games.

Rodriguez allowed one unearned run on four hits and two walks while striking out five batters over five-plus innings in a no-decision against the Dodgers on Saturday.

Rodriguez faced a loaded Dodgers lineup and didn't back down, getting through five frames without being scored upon. He faced one batter in the sixth and was let down by his defense, as Kyle Tucker reached on a fielding error and later came around to score following Rodriguez's exit. Though the veteran hurler wasn't able to secure the win, this was nonetheless a very promising 2026 debut on the heels of a strong finish to the 2025 campaign, when he posted a 4-1 record with a 2.80 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over his final six starts. It's far too early to tab Rodriguez as having a career resurgence, but after he registered an ERA north of 5.00 both of the past two campaigns, fantasy managers who remember his strong 2023 regular season (3.30 ERA, 1.15 WHIP over 26 starts) may want to keep an eye on his next few outings.
