Quintero slashed .259/.384/.440 with five home runs, 12 steals, a 15.8 percent walk rate and a 24 percent strikeout rate in 32 games for High-A Great Lakes.

The righty-hitting center fielder laid waste to the Cal League, logging a 160 wRC+ with 14 homers and 35 steals in 81 games before getting promoted to the Midwest League on July 25. He hasn't been quite as dominant at High-A (135 wRC+), but he's still aced the assignment, as he's one of the youngest players at High-A and had no trouble getting to his power in games while maintaining a strong approach at the plate. Quintero is a great athlete who spent the majority of the year patrolling center field. The only other minor-league players to hit 17-plus homers with 45-plus steals this year are Cardinals outfielder Joshua Baez and No. 1 overall prospect Konnor Griffin.

Tatis (illness) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.

Tatis will miss a third straight start as he battles an illness. The Padres have a team off day Thursday, so Tatis could be back in action Friday versus the Diamondbacks. Ramon Laureano will again slide over to right field for the Padres, while Gavin Sheets gets the start in left field.

The Brewers recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez has been knocked around in three relief outings with the Brewers this season, allowing seven runs with a 6:7 K:BB over 7.2 frames. With Chad Patrick slated for a relatively abbreviated start Wednesday in San Diego, Rodriguez will provide some necessary length out of the bullpen.

The Brewers designated Zimmermann for assignment Wednesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Zimmermann made a spot start Tuesday in San Diego, yielding six runs (five earned) over six innings of work. He'll be replaced on the active roster by Carlos Rodriguez, who will give the Brewers' bullpen some length.

Morton will not make a start for Atlanta this week, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Morton reunited with Atlanta by signing a major-league deal Monday following his release from the Tigers. He is expected to pitch at some point this week as a send-off before retirement, but the appearance will come out of the bullpen. The 41-year-old Morton has posted a 5.89 ERA and 148:71 K:BB over 140.2 innings between the Orioles and Tigers in 2025.

Adams is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

Adams started at catcher in the first two games of the series, so he'll get a break during Wednesday's matinee. Jorge Alfaro will be behind the dish and bat seventh as the Nationals try to avoid the sweep.

Young is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest versus Atlanta.

Young has been seeing more reps than Robert Hassell in center field lately, but he'll begin Wednesday's game on the bench. Hassell will patrol center field and bat eighth in the series finale.

House is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.

House will get a breather during Wednesday's matinee after starting the last four contests. Paul DeJong will occupy the hot corner and bat ninth for the Nationals.

The Marlins will place Myers on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a right knee laceration, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Myers suffered the injury when he collided with the chain-link fence in right field at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday in Philadelphia. While Myers managed to avoid a more serious injury, he'll need time for the laceration to heal, so his season is over. Myers will finish with a .235/.291/.326 batting line, six homers and 18 stolen bases over 106 contests.

Peterson allowed five runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one batter in 1.1 innings Tuesday against the Cubs. He did not factor into the decision.

Peterson continued his stretch of horrendous starts in Tuesday's outing. In nine starts dating back to Aug. 6, Peterson has allowed at least four runs in six of them and has an 8.42 ERA and 1.78 WHIP over that span. The Cubs strung together a pair of runs in the first and another three in the second, forcing a quick hook for Peterson after he threw just 42 pitches (22 strikes). Manager Carlos Mendoza mentioned afterward that Peterson could play a big role for the remaining five games of the regular season, potentially pitching out of the bullpen. As of now, Peterson is lined up to start Sunday against the Nationals, though that would change if he's used in relief in advance of that game.
