The Phillies designated Hicklen for assignment Tuesday.

The Phillies selected Rafael Lantigua to the active roster Tuesday to make up for the loss of Edmundo Sosa (groin), which pushed Hicklen off the 40-man roster. The 29-year-old has spent the majority of the season as organizational depth at Triple-A, slashing .224/.319/.409 across 386 plate appearances.

The Phillies placed Sosa on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to Saturday, with a right groin strain.

The Phillies were hoping Sosa would be able to return to the starting lineup Tuesday after missing three straight games with a groin injury. Instead, he'll end up spending at least another week on the sidelines. Rafael Lantigua was promoted from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to provide infield depth.

Lantigua had his contract selected from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Lantigua will join the major-league roster after batting .233 with seven home runs, 57 RBI, 82 runs scored and 17 stolen bases over 124 contests with Lehigh Valley this year. He'll replace Edmundo Sosa (groin), who was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, while Brewer Hicklen was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster.

Bailey is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Diamondbacks.

Bailey is getting a breather after starting the last seven games, going 5-for-20 with three home runs, two walks and six strikeouts. Andrew Knizner gets the start behind the plate and is batting ninth Tuesday.

Collins isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.

Collins will get a chance to regroup Tuesday after going just 2-for-14 across his last six games. Jackson Chourio will slide over to left field to cover for Collins, opening up center field for Blake Perkins.

Bauers isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.

Bauers will take a seat Tuesday after making four consecutive starts at first base, during which he went 2-for-11 with an RBI and two runs scored. Andrew Vaughn will replace him in the starting nine and bat sixth.

The Giants recalled McDonald from Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

McDonald has spent the entire season in Triple-A, where he owns a 5.37 ERA and 1.45 WHIP across 142.1 innings while working primarily as a starter. He'll provide the Giants with another long relief option, replacing Keaton Winn.

The Giants optioned Winn to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Winn gave up five earned runs across eight innings during his latest stint in the majors. He'll now return to Triple-A to make room for Trevor McDonald, who will provide San Francisco with a fresh bullpen arm.

Edwards (wrist) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.

Tuesday will mark Edwards' third consecutive missed start since being scratched from Saturday's lineup with right wrist discomfort. While he takes another day to recover, Javier Sanoja will pick up a start at the keystone and bat ninth.

Kim is out of the lineup for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Nationals.

Kim started at shortstop in the matinee and went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. The 29-year-old will head to the bench for the nightcap, allowing Nick Allen to pick up a start at shortstop.
