The Cardinals recalled Roycroft from Triple-A Memphis on Monday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Roycroft has been shuttled back and forth between Memphis and St. Louis numerous times this season, though he'll be returning to the big leagues for the first time since June. The big righty holds a 6.92 ERA and 9:9 K:BB over 13 innings for St. Louis in 2025.

Alvarez (thumb/finger) was able to catch all nine innings of Sunday's game with Triple-A Syracuse, and he appears to be close to returning from the injured list, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

The 23-year-old backstop landed on the IL on Aug. 18 due to a right thumb injury that will likely require offseason surgery, and Alvarez's digits continued to take a beating on a rehab assignment last week when he was hit by a pitch and fractured his lefty pinky finger Wednesday. Incredibly, he was only sidelined until Saturday before resuming his rehab stint, and pain tolerance appears to be the biggest hurdle before he'll be able to return to the Mets. That said, over his two games this weekend with Syracuse he went 1-for-9 with six strikeouts, and trying to play through injuries to both hands isn't going to help his performance as a hitter.

The Cardinals activated Scott (ankle) from the 10-day injured list Monday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Scott missed the last couple weeks with a left ankle sprain but is ready to roll following a brief rehab assignment. The speedster should regain his role as the Cardinals' primary center fielder down the stretch, though Nathan Church could also be mixed in at the position on occasion. Church will draw the start in center field in Monday's series opener versus the Athletics.

The Marlins transferred Zuber (lat) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

Miami placed Zuber on the 15-day IL on Saturday after he was diagnosed with a right lat strain, and his move to the 60-day IL two days later confirms that he won't pitch again in 2025. The Marlins called up right-hander Luarbert Arias from Triple-A Jacksonville to replace Zuber on the 40-man roster.

The Marlins recalled Petersen from Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.

Petersen was acquired from Atlanta in exchange for cash back in July. The 31-year-old right-hander has appeared in 12 games (one start) for Jacksonville since the trade, registering a 6.00 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB across 12 innings. He'll likely be ticketed for low-leverage work out of the Miami bullpen.

The Marlins transferred Bender (tibia) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

Bender had already been ruled out for the season after being diagnosed Aug. 19 with a right tibial stress reaction, so his move to the 60-day IL merely opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for one of the Marlins' three September call-ups. Before getting shut down with the injury, Bender appeared in 51 games out of the Miami bullpen and logged a 2.16 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 42:21 K:BB while collecting three wins, four saves and 19 holds in 50 innings.

Senga may be removed from the rotation as the Mets try to hang onto a playoff spot in September, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports. "We're going to have some discussion about what's next for him," manager Carlos Mendoza said after Sunday's loss to the Marlins, during which Senga coughed up five runs in 4.2 innings.

The 32-year-old right-hander hasn't been able to regain his form since returning from a hamstring injury just before the All-Star break, and things were particularly grim for Senga in August as he stumbled to a 6.18 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 27:14 K:BB over six starts and 27.2 innings. The Mets should get Tylor Megill (elbow) back from the 60-day injured list as soon as Sunday and are trying to keep a starting spot available for rookie Jonah Tong, so they have the depth to bump Senga from the rotation until he shows signs of a turnaround. New York currently sits six games back of Philadelphia in the NL East, and four games ahead of Cincinnati for the final wild-card spot in the Senior Circuit.

Marsee went 2-for-3 with two walks, a double and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Mets.

The rookie put the finishing touches on a dynamite August that saw him slash .352/.430/.629 over 24 games with four homers, nine steals, 18 runs and 25 RBI. Marsee won't keep up that incredible pace, but after a Triple-A breakout that began back in June, the 24-year-old looks like he might be the long-term solution for the Marlins in center field.

DeJong is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.

DeJong will hit the bench after he had started in each of the last three games while going 2-for-11 with seven strikeouts. Though DeJong should be a fixture in the lineup against left-handed pitching throughout September, his playing time versus righties may be more sporadic so long as the Nationals stay committed to giving third baseman Brady House regular starts.

Crews is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins.

Since being reinstated from the 60-day injured list Aug. 14, Crews had started in each of the Nationals' ensuing 16 games and slashed .218/.317/.309 with no home runs and three stolen bases. Crews had mustered just four hits in 24 at-bats over his last seven starts, so he'll get a chance to clear his head in the series opener with Miami. With Crews on the bench, Daylen Lile will pick up a start in right field.
