Winn is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

After sitting out last Sunday's loss to the Rays due to lingering soreness in his left knee, Winn proceeded to start six straight games, going 5-for-25 with a double, a walk, four RBI and three runs. The shortstop doesn't appear to be dealing with any setbacks, so his absence from the lineup for Sunday's matinee looks to be rest-related. Thomas Saggese will cover shortstop in Winn's stead.

Pages is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Pages will get a breather after starting behind the dish in three of the previous four contests. Jimmy Crooks will step in for his first MLB start Sunday. With the 68-69 Cardinals fading from playoff contention, Pages could be at risk of losing playing time down the stretch to Crooks, who is regarded as one of the organization's top prospects and offers a higher offensive ceiling.

Giants manager Bob Melvin confirmed Saturday that Rodriguez (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery, Andres Soto of MLB.com reports.

Given that Tommy John surgery typically requires a 12-to-18 month recovery, Rodriguez's absence will extend through the end of the 2026 season. The 25-year-old right-hander previously missed over a month in the second half of the 2024 campaign due to right elbow inflammation, and the pain reportedly never fully subsided. Despite that, Rodriguez earned his first All-Star selection in 2025, recording a 1.78 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 67:11 K:BB across 50.2 innings in 50 appearances. He had also notched three saves in August, but Ryan Walker appears likely to take over as the Giants' primary closer with Rodriguez shut down.

Tong will remain in the Mets rotation during the upcoming week and is set to make his next start Friday in Cincinnati.

The young right-hander cruised to an easy win in his MLB debut, striking out six batters while allowing four runs (one earned) on six hits and no walks in the Mets' 19-9 rout of the Marlins on Friday. Tong led the minors with 179 punchouts prior to his promotion, but whether the top prospect sticks in the rotation throughout September could hinge on how he performs at hitter-friendly Great American Ball Park, as Tylor Megill (elbow) is in the midst of a rehab assignment and could be ready to return from the 60-day injured list the next time the Mets would need a sixth starter. The team could also keep spots open in a six-man rotation for both Tong and Megill by moving Clay Holmes to the bullpen, as Holmes has already more than doubled his innings count from 2024 while he serves as a full-time starter for the first time since 2018.

Happ went 2-for-3 with two walks, a double and an RBI in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rockies.

Happ has enjoyed his trip to Coors Field so far, as he's gone 5-for-8 with two walks, four extra-base hits and three RBI in two games. The veteran outfielder is still having a bit of a down season by his standards, as his current .732 OPS would be the lowest of his nine-year MLB career. However, Happ has also managed 17 home runs to this point, and he could reach the 20-homer plateau for the third straight season and fifth time overall with a solid September.

Suzuki went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rockies.

After slumping for much of August, Suzuki has produced consecutive multi-hit games at Coors Field. The slugging outfielder is still batting just .235 in 26 games this month, and he's only gone deep once in that time. Overall, Suzuki has a .247 batting average and .803 OPS to go along with 27 home runs, which is second on the team to Pete Crow-Armstrong's 28.

Busch went 2-for-4 with a triple and a run scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rockies.

Busch tallied his second straight two-hit game at Coors Field, and he also delivered his fourth triple of the season in the victory. The Chicago first baseman continues to feast against right-handed pitching, posting a .279/.359/.547 slash line in 362 at-bats. Due to his strong platoon splits, Busch is the Cubs' regular leadoff man against righties, but he often hits the bench against southpaws.

Tucker 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Rockies.

Tucker has been dialed in lately, as he now has at least one hit in seven of his last eight games while batting .393 during that stretch with three home runs, eight RBI and eight runs scored. A hand injury that impacted his swing earlier in the summer is fully healed, and it appears that the outfielder is finally getting comfortable at the plate again following a prolonged slump. Overall, Tucker is batting .266 with an .846 OPS, and he's contributed 21 home runs, 25 stolen bases, 70 RBI and 87 runs scored.

Seymour (0-2) took the loss against Baltimore on Saturday, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two batters over three innings.

Seymour's first MLB start didn't go according to plan, though he was able to begin the game with two scoreless innings before serving up a pair of two-run homers in the third. It's unclear if he'll get another turn in the rotation after making his first 10 appearances out of the bullpen, but the Giants have a need for a fifth starter with Landen Roupp (knee) likely to be sidelined until at least late September. Over 24.2 big-league innings this season, Seymour has a 4.74 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 18:11 K:BB.

Wilson went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in Saturday's 4-3 extra-inning victory over Atlanta.

It was Wilson's second homer in August and only his third of the season. The utility man should continue to provide depth for the Phillies, but he doesn't have an opening for a regular role while most of the roster is healthy. For the year, Wilson is batting .214 with two doubles, 11 RBI, eight walks and nine runs scored through 70 at-bats.
