Lile (illness) is batting sixth as the designated hitter Friday against the Rays, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

The 22-year-old has been held out of the starting nine for nearly a week due to an illness, but he'll return to action following Washington's team day off Thursday. Lile has earned a regular place in the lineup versus right-handed pitching and has a .313/.370/.448 slash line through 19 games in August.

The Brewers activated Zastryzny (ribs) from the 15-day injured list Friday.

Zastryzny has been out since late June with a stress reaction in his ribs but is ready to go after overcoming a previous setback. He'll give manager Pat Murphy another left-handed option in the bulllpen.

The Brewers optioned McGee to Triple-A Nashville on Friday.

McGee had thrown 3.2 innings covering two appearances over the last two days, so he wasn't going to be available to pitch for a day or two. Rob Zastryzny (ribs) is coming off the injured list to take McGee's roster spot.

The Cardinals placed Pozo on the 7-day concussion injured list Friday.

Pozo was able to remain in the game after being shaken up by a foul tip to the mask Thursday against the Pirates, but concussion symptoms eventually surfaced and he'll have to miss some time. The Cardinals will go with Jimmy Crooks and Pedro Pages at catcher while Pozo is sidelined.

The Cardinals placed Burleson on the 10-day injured list Friday with right wrist inflammation.

After first tweaking his wrist last week and sitting out one game, Burleson had to be lifted from Thursday's contests versus the Pirates after aggravating the injury. He'll be eligible for activation Sept. 8, but the Cardinals have not offered a timetable for Burleson's return. Lars Nootbaar, Nathan Church and Jordan Walker should be the team's primary outfielders for now, though Victor Scott (ankle) is due back next week and would likely displace Church from that group.

The Cardinals selected Prieto's contract from Triple-A Memphis on Friday.

Prieto is a high-contact, low-power infielder who has slashed .296/.358/.453 with 10 home runs with a 13.4 percent strikeout rate this season at Memphis. He's capable of handling second base, third base and shortstop and will likely operate in a reserve role. Prieto will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game.

The Cardinals selected Crooks' contract from Triple-A Memphis on Friday.

Crooks has slashed .337/.404/.518 with three home runs in August with Memphis and has hit .274/.337/.441 with 14 home runs there for the full season. The left-handed hitter could be worth a look in fantasy leagues if the Cardinals use him on the long side of a platoon at catcher with Pedro Pages. Crooks is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Cincinnati against righty Zack Littell, though the Cardinals could just be giving him a day to get settled in.

McLain is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Cardinals.

McLain will get the night off after making four consecutive starts at second base. Santiago Espinal will fill in at the keystone and bat ninth.

The Nationals selected Stubbs' contract from Triple-A Rochester on Friday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

The former Astros farmhand will take the place of Drew Millas (finger) on the active roster. Stubbs will be making his MLB debut when he gets into a game and is set to serve as Riley Adams' backup at catcher.

The Nationals placed Millas on the 10-day injured list Friday with a fractured and dislocated left index finger.

Millas suffered the injury when he was struck by an Austin Wells swing during Wednesday's game against the Yankees. The Nationals haven't revealed a timeline for Millas' return, but there's a good chance he's done for the season.
