Roupp (elbow) struck out four and allowed two earned runs on three hits and no walks over three innings in a rehab start Sunday with Triple-A Sacramento.

In his first appearance since landing on the injured list July 25 due to right elbow inflammation, Roupp flashed his normal velocity and exhibited good control, pumping 33 of his 50 pitches in for strikes. The Giants will likely want Roupp to push his workload up into the 75-pitch range before activating him from the IL, so he'll presumably require at least one more start in the minors.

Miller (elbow) retired one of the five batters he faced and was charged with two runs (one earned) on three hits in his rehab appearance Friday with Triple-A Sacramento.

Making his first appearance at any level since July 2, Miller exhibited some rust but wasn't hit particularly hard; all three of the hits he allowed were singles. According to Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News, the left-hander is expected to make two more rehab appearances before slotting back into the San Francisco bullpen.

Assad (oblique) struck out four and allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks across 4.1 innings for Triple-A Iowa in the third start of his rehab assignment Wednesday.

Assad is still waiting to make his 2025 debut with the Cubs, as he was placed on the injured list coming out of spring training due to a left oblique strain, then suffered a setback in his recovery in late April following a pair of rehab starts. He was cleared to kick off a new rehab assignment shortly after the All-Star break, and he's now built up to 68 pitches through three outings. Assad is likely to make at least one more rehab start before the Cubs bring him back from the 60-day IL and decide whether to use him in the rotation or as a long reliever.

Taillon (calf) struck out six and allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks over 4.2 innings in his second rehab start Friday for Triple-A Iowa.

After getting lit up for seven earned runs in three innings in his initial outing with Iowa last weekend, Taillon was much sharper in his second rehab start. Perhaps more significantly, Taillon built his pitch count up to 78 on Friday, potentially making him stretched out enough to return from the 15-day injured list to make his next start with the Cubs. The organization is still in the process of determining the next step for Taillon, who has been on the shelf since July 4 due to a right calf strain.

Sosa went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-2 victory over the Rangers.

Sosa manned the hot corner and slugged his second homer of the month in the fifth with a 403-foot solo shot off Texas southpaw Patrick Corbin. The 29-year-old infielder has filled in admirably while Alec Bohm (rib) has been on the injured list since July 19, batting .244 (11-for-45) with two homers, seven runs scored and six RBI over 16 contests. Sosa's stretch of solid playing time may be drawing to an end soon, as Bohm started a rehab assignment at Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday. Across 194 total plate appearances, Sosa is slashing .267/.304/.428 with 22 runs scored and 27 RBI.

Duran notched the save in Sunday's 4-2 win at Texas, allowing one hit and no walks in a scoreless inning with one strikeout.

The 27-year-old flamethrower worked around a one-out single to secure his third save since joining Philadelphia at the trade deadline. This marks the third consecutive season Duran has reached the 20-save plateau, as he remains one of the game's elite relievers. Through 53.1 total innings with the Phillies and Twins, the right-hander has pitched to a 1.86 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 56:18 K:BB.

Wheeler (10-5) earned the win Sunday at Texas, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out seven.

The Philadelphia ace looked sharp in this 83-pitch performance after having his start pushed back from Saturday due to shoulder stiffness. Wheeler generated an impressive 19 whiffs, as he notched seven or more Ks for the 19th time out of 23 total starts this season. The only blemish on his line came in the first when Wheeler conceded a 352-foot, two-run long ball to Joc Pederson. The 35-year-old has pitched to a 2.68 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 189:31 K:BB across 144.2 total frames while remaining in pursuit of his first Cy Young Award. Wheeler currently lines up to make his next start at Washington next weekend.

Acuna (calf) was spotted sprinting and doing stop-and-start running in the outfield prior to Sunday's 7-1 win over the Marlins, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

According to MLB.com, Acuna will travel with Atlanta to New York for its series versus the Mets to begin the week, though it's unclear if he's a candidate to get activated from the injured list during the three-game set or if he's merely continuing to work out in front of the big-league training staff. In any case, Acuna seems to be making good progress in his recovery from a Grade 1 right calf strain, which sent him to the IL on July 30. Given that Acuna had already scaled back his involvement in the running game this season upon making his return from ACL surgery May 23, expect his contributions as a base stealer to remain limited down the stretch as he returns from another lower-body injury.

The Cardinals optioned Graceffo to Triple-A Memphis on Sunday.

Graceffo is the casualty from the 26-man active roster after St. Louis needed to clear a spot for right-hander Jorge Alcala, who was claimed off waivers from the Red Sox. During his latest stint in the big leagues, Graceffo made four appearances out of the St. Louis bullpen and gave up six earned runs on 10 hits and two walks over 6.1 innings.

Manaea conceded four runs on six hits and two walks over four frames while not factoring into the decision in Sunday's 7-6 loss at Milwaukee. He struck out five.

The New York southpaw was cruising through the first three innings, allowing no runs on two hits while his offense supplied him with a 5-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fourth. Manaea conceded three runs in the fourth before being chased after allowing a leadoff single to Isaac Collins in the fifth. Collins then scored when reliever Reed Garrett gave up a homer to the next batter, William Contreras. Manaea tossed a season-high 87 pitches in this appearance, as the Mets continue to limit his usage after he was shelved until July 13 with elbow and oblique injuries. The 33-year-old has pitched to a 4.33 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 30:6 K:BB over 27 total innings and is tentatively slated to make his next start at home against the Mariners next weekend.
