Scott isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs.

Scott will sit down for a second consecutive game Saturday after going 3-for-18 with seven strikeouts through his first six games of August. Lars Nootbaar will take his place in center field and bat fifth against right-hander Colin Rea.

Mauricio isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Brewers.

Mauricio will pick out a seat on the bench Saturday after going 0-for-10 with two walks and four strikeouts to begin the month of August. While he sits, Mark Vientos will start at the hot corner with Starling Marte working as the DH.

Hays isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Pirates.

Hays will get a day to regroup after going 0-for-8 with three strikeouts through the first two games of the series. His absence will allow Miguel Andujar to work as the Reds' DH while batting fourth.

The Padres optioned Reynolds to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday.

The 27-year-old righty will lose his place on the big-league pitching staff due to Michael King (shoulder) returning from the injured list Saturday. Reynolds carries a 5.55 ERA and 1.32 WHIP through 24.1 innings in the majors this season but remains an option to return to San Diego down the stretch whenever the Friars need a fresh bullpen arm.

The Padres reinstated King (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list prior to his start Saturday against the Red Sox.

King landed on the injured list in late May with a right shoulder thoracic nerve impingement. He resumed pitching in minor-league games last weekend but was met with struggles, coughing up six earned runs on four hits, a walk and an HBP while striking out five batters over 3.1 innings. Despite his poor results, the Padres liked what they saw from him enough to feel comfortable activating him after just one rehab outing. He'll now be welcomed back to the majors by a Red Sox offense that has posted a .734 OPS since the All-Star break. Sean Reynolds was optioned to Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move.

Garcia (back) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.

Back tightness prevented Garcia from playing in Friday's series opener, and he'll need at least one more day to recover before rejoining Washington's lineup. Paul DeJong will start at the keystone and bat third against southpaw Carson Whisenhunt.

Montas will pitch in bulk relief behind Reed Garrett during Saturday's game against the Brewers, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Montas has struggled often during the first inning this season, so the Mets will delay his appearance by three outs in an effort to maximize his effectiveness. The 32-year-old has given up 12 earned runs over 8.1 innings across his last two starts, however, so he still isn't a recommended fantasy option while he matches up against the hottest team in baseball.

Garrett will open Saturday's game against the Brewers, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Garrett will move out of his traditional high-leverage relief role to pitch the first inning of Saturday's contest, marking his first career start in the majors. The 32-year-old righty sports a 2.51 ERA and 1.16 WHIP through 46.2 innings on the year and will likely make it through just one inning before handing the game over to Frankie Montas for bulk-relief work.

Flores (hamstring) isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Nationals, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Still bothered by his tight left hamstring, Flores is now set to miss his seventh consecutive start. The Giants are still hoping the 34-year-old will return soon enough to keep him off the IL, but after a full week of him not playing any games, the team may need to change their plans soon. Rafael Devers will serve as the designated hitter Saturday while Dominic Smith starts at first base.

Bailey isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Washington, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Bailey has gone 5-for-9 with four RBI and two runs scored over his last three games, but he'll begin Saturday's contest on the bench while Andrew Knizner catches for left-handed starter Carson Whisenhunt.
