Weathers (lat) threw a bullpen session Wednesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The workout appeared to mark Weathers' first time throwing off a mound since he landed on the 60-day injured list in early June with a left lat strain. After being sidelined for a lengthy period of time, Weathers will need time to be built back up. A return before the end of August seems unlikely, but manager Clayton McCullough said Wednesday that he's "cautiously optimistic" that Weathers will pitch again for the big club this season, per Alex Krutchik of FishOnFirst.com.

Goodman is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

He'll be getting a routine breather for the matinee contest after going 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two RBI and two runs while catching all nine innings of the Rockies' 10-4 loss Tuesday night. Braxton Fulford will get the nod at catcher in the series finale.

Arcia won't start in Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays due to a right elbow injury, Kevin Henry of The Denver Gazette reports.

Arcia went 1-for-2 with a base hit before he was lifted for a pinch runner in the bottom of the fifth inning of Tuesday's 10-4 loss due to the elbow issue. According to Henry, interim manager Warren Schaeffer said that Arcia is set to undergo an MRI on Wednesday, and the Rockies will wait and see how the veteran infielder feels following Thursday's off day before determining whether he'll require a stint on the injured list. Kyle Farmer will cover third base in Arcia's stead Wednesday.

Myers is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Astros.

Myers is absent from the starting nine for the second straight game and the third time in the last four contests. Since Jakob Marsee took over in Myers' old spot in center field, Myers has been one of a few players the Marlins have been rotating in and out of the lineup in right field. Troy Johnston will get the nod in right field Wednesday.

Muncy is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Cardinals.

Muncy went 4-for-5 with a pair of home runs in Tuesday's 12-6 victory in his second game back from the injured list, but he'll get a breather during Wednesday's matinee. Alex Freeland will cover third base and bat ninth for the Dodgers.

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Wednesday that he expects Amaya (oblique) to return from the 60-day injured list ahead of the team's series in Toronto early next week, Mike McGraw of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.

Amaya has been shelved since May 25 due to a left oblique strain but is nearing the finish line in his recovery after he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment July 22. After spending the first three games of his assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, Amaya has moved up to Triple-A Iowa for his last six contests and has gone 5-for-16 with a 2:4 BB:K and no extra-base hits during that stretch. Once he's reinstated from the IL, Amaya will likely displace Reese McGuire as the top backup to No. 1 catcher Carson Kelly.

The Rockies recalled Amador from Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.

Amador will join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for Thairo Estrada (hamstring), who was placed on the 10-day injured list. The Rockies will throw Amador into the lineup for Wednesday's series finale versus the Blue Jays, as he'll take over Estrada's usual spot at second base, per Thomas Harding of MLB.com. The 22-year-old could see regular reps at the keystone while Estrada is out, but Amador has managed just a .180/.253/.256 batting line over 148 career plate appearances at the major-league level.

Estrada will head to the IL for the third time this season, after he was previously shut down due to a fractured right wrist and a sprained right thumb. The infielder suffered his latest injury while running out a grounder in Tuesday's 10-4 loss to the Blue Jays and was spotted using crutches to move about the clubhouse after the game, per MLB.com. Colorado recalled Adael Amador from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move, and he'll replace Estrada in the starting nine at second base in Wednesday's series finale with Toronto, according to Thomas Harding of MLB.com.

House went 1-for-3 with a walk and three RBI in Tuesday's loss to the A's.

The rookie third baseman had a productive night, even though the Nationals were on the wrong end of a 16-7 rout. House hasn't homered in 14 straight games, slashing .224/.231/.245 over that stretch with a 1:15 BB:K, but a rebuilding Washington squad will live with some growing pains from the 2021 first-round pick.

Garcia went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI in Tuesday's loss to the A's.

The second baseman stayed hot and helped fuel a seven-run outburst by the Nats' offense, although that paled in comparison to the 16 runs surrendered by the pitching staff. Over 15 games since the All-Star break, Garcia is slashing .298/.328/.439 with two doubles, two homers, one steal, seven RBI and eight runs.
