Nationals' Cole Henry: Sent back to Triple-A

The Nationals optioned Henry to Triple-A Rochester on Saturday.

Despite tossing two scoreless innings in Friday's 14-1 win over the Diamondbacks, Henry is still carrying a 6.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 13:6 K:BB across 12 frames this season. Washington has yet to announce a replacement for Henry on the 26-man active roster, but the team could look to bring a fresh relief arm aboard ahead of Sunday's series finale.

  • Andrew Painter SP | PHI

Phillies' Andrew Painter: Jumped early in loss

Painter (1-7) took the loss against the White Sox on Saturday, allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 4.2 innings.

Painter allowed four runs in the first inning before surrendering two solo homers in the third. He generated 13 whiffs on 93 pitches and allowed just three hard-hit balls, but all three went for extra bases. It marked the fifth time in 12 starts that the rookie failed to complete five frames, and he has now recorded four strikeouts or fewer in six straight outings. He'll take an ugly 6.21 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 47:19 K:BB across 58 innings this season into a challenging road matchup against the Brewers next weekend.

  • Nick Frasso RP | LAD

Dodgers' Nick Frasso: Elevated to big leagues

The Dodgers recalled Frasso from Triple-A Oklahoma on Saturday.

Frasso will make his first appearance in the major leagues after toiling in the organization's minor-league system since 2021. The 27-year-old has posted a 4.85 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and 24:10 K:BB across 13 innings at the Triple-A level this season. The right-hander takes the spot of Tyler Glasnow (back) on the active roster following the latter's transfer to the 60-day injured list.

  • Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD

Dodgers' Tyler Glasnow: Transferred to 60-day IL

The Dodgers transferred Glasnow (back) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Glasnow has yet to make strong enough strides to return to a big-league mound, thus resulting in a 60-day IL stint. The 32-year-old resumed throwing May 25, but he was unable to get over the hump to advance his pitching progression beyond playing catch. The Dodgers will call up Nick Frasso to take Glasnow's spot on the 40-man roster and add another pitcher to the depleted Dodgers pitching staff.

  • Landen Roupp SP | SF

Giants' Landen Roupp: Rebounds in no-decision

Roupp did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Cubs, allowing one run on three hits and three walks with five strikeouts over 5.2 innings.

Roupp opened with five scoreless frames before allowing a solo homer in the sixth, departing one out shy of a quality start after throwing 98 pitches. It was an encouraging rebound for the 27-year-old, who had yielded eight runs while pitching through back discomfort in his previous outing Monday. He owns a 4.00 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 77:30 K:BB across 69.2 innings this season and lines up for a home rematch against the Cubs next weekend.

  • Will Smith C | LAD

    Dodgers' Will Smith: Scratched Saturday

Smith was scratched from the lineup for Saturday's game against the Angels.

The Dodgers haven't announced why Smith was taken out of the starting nine, but more details should come in the near future. In the meantime, Dalton Rushing will fill in as the Dodgers' catcher and bat eighth.

  • Ben Brown RP | CHC

Cubs' Ben Brown: Strong again in no-decision

Brown did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Giants, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out five over 5.1 scoreless innings.

Brown threw just 51 of 87 pitches for strikes but managed to keep the Giants off the board, departing two outs shy of what would have been his third straight quality start. Since joining the rotation May 8, the 26-year-old has allowed more than one earned run just once in six outings. He'll carry a stellar 1.74 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 58:16 K:BB across 57 innings into a road matchup against the Rockies next week.

  • Brewers' Garrett Mitchell: Resting up Saturday

Mitchell isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Colorado.

Mitchell will get a chance to rest his legs Saturday after going 3-for-11 with an RBI and a run scored in four games since the start of June. While he sits, Jake Bauers, Jackson Chourio and Sal Frelick will start across the outfield.

  • Luis Rengifo 3B | SD

Brewers' Luis Rengifo: Riding pine Saturday

Rengifo isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies.

Rengifo will grab a seat on the bench after going 3-for-16 with three RBI and three runs scored over his last five games. His absence will put David Hamilton at third base and Joey Ortiz in the lineup as Milwaukee's shortstop.

  • Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong: Homers twice in win

Crow-Armstrong went 4-for-5 with two solo home runs in Saturday's 3-2 extra-inning win over the Giants.

Crow-Armstrong got the Cubs on the board with a solo shot in the sixth inning before tying the game in the ninth with a 403-foot blast. The 24-year-old is in the midst of an 11-game hitting streak that includes five homers, nine RBI, nine runs scored and one stolen base. The hot stretch has boosted his season slash line to .259/.343/.448 to go along with 11 long balls, 32 RBI, 37 runs scored and 13 steals across 272 plate appearances.
