Horwitz (hamstring) has begun a running program at the Pirates' spring training complex in Florida, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Horwitz strained his left hamstring two weeks ago but has been cleared to kick off his running progression. If the first baseman is able to advance his rehab without any hiccups, he could begin a rehab assignment shortly after the All-Star break.

Crews is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.

Crews started the previous 16 games and will receive a day off after posting a .290/.362/.435 slash line with three doubles, two homers and three steals during that span. James Wood is shifting to the outfield Tuesday while CJ Abrams rests his legs as the designated hitter.

Cruz (hand) has resumed swinging a bat, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Cruz continues to ramp up his baseball activities as he works his way back from a fractured left hand. He still has more boxes to check, but Cruz is tracking toward a rehab assignment shortly after the All-Star break and a return before the end of July if he continues on his current trajectory.

Arroyo is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies.

Arroyo has gone 2-for-16 across his past five contests and will sit Tuesday for the second time in Cincinnati's past three games. Matt McLain is picking up another start at second base in the series opener versus Philadelphia.

Kelly is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Baltimore.

Kelly and Miguel Amaya continue to split the reps at catcher for the Cubs fairly evenly. With Amaya in the lineup Tuesday, this marks the seventh consecutive occasion in which the two have alternated starts behind the dish.

The Pirates placed Griffin on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a torn tendon in his left ring finger, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Per director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk, Griffin will wear a splint for six weeks and is expected to be sidelined for 8-to-10 weeks. That puts the rookie on the shelf until early September, at minimum, which is a massive blow to the Pirates and Griffin's fantasy managers. Jared Triolo will likely handle the bulk of the playing time at shortstop for the Pirates while Griffin is out.

Conrad (back) has gone 4-for-13 with a solo home run, a double, two walks, a stolen base and two additional runs in four games in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League since making his professional debut June 30.

ACL play got underway May 2, but Conrad was unavailable for almost the entire first two months of the season due to a lower-back injury. The No. 17 overall pick in the 2025 First-Year Player Draft, Conrad had also been held out of ACL games last summer while recovering from shoulder surgery. Despite the extended layoff from competitive action, Conrad hasn't shown much sign of rust since debuting last week, and the 22-year-old outfielder could soon move up to Single-A Myrtle Beach.

The Mets designated Zuniga for assignment Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Zuniga was called up Monday and tossed a scoreless frame against Atlanta but now finds himself off the 26- and 40-man rosters a day later. The Mets will announce a corresponding roster move prior to Tuesday's game in Atlanta.

Marsee (knee) will start in center field and bat seventh in Tuesday's game versus the Mariners.

Marsee had to be lifted from Sunday's game against the Athletics with a right knee contusion, but he will not have to miss a start, as Miami's team off day Monday evidently afforded the outfielder enough rest. The 25-year-old is slashing a disappointing .192/.316/.296 this season but does have five home runs and 18 stolen bases.

The Phillies recalled Lazar from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The right-hander was up with the Phillies for a few days in mid-June, when he allowed two runs on three hits with a 4:0 K:BB over four innings. Lazar, who has a 4.19 ERA and 1.41 WHIP across 16 relief outings at Lehigh Valley, should fill a low-leverage role out of the bullpen for Philadelphia.
