Young is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta, Mark Zuckerman of NatsJournal.com reports.

Young has a .923 OPS in 31 at-bats since the All-Star break but will head to the bench Sunday after starting the previous two games. Daylen Lile, Dylan Crews and James Wood will start from left to right in the outfield while Jose Tena serves as the designated hitter.

Eldridge went 2-for-5 in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Padres.

Eldridge hit a leadoff single in the first inning and added another base hit to begin the fifth. The 21-year-old has delivered three multi-hit performances since the All-Star break, batting .193 with seven runs scored, six RBI, three home runs and a stolen base in 66 plate appearances during that span. Overall, he's slashing .253/.350/.445 with 35 runs scored, 26 RBI, 11 long balls and a stolen base across 283 plate appearances this season.

Susac went 2-for-4 with a double in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Padres.

Susac lined a leadoff double to center field in the sixth inning and singled in the eighth. He's recorded at least one hit in each of his last three games and is batting .280 with eight RBI, five runs scored, three home runs and a stolen base in 29 plate appearances since returning from the injured list after the All-Star break. On the year, he's slashing .266/.310/.406 with 22 RBI, 10 runs scored, three long balls and two stolen bases across 144 plate appearances.

Suarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

The veteran slugger started the previous four games but will hit the bench Sunday while in the midst of a 2-for-26 slump, during which he has struck out 16 times. Nathaniel Lowe will step in as Cincinnati's designated hitter in place of Suarez for the series finale versus Pittsburgh.

The Mets selected Stock's contract from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Marlins at Citi Field.

Stock will be making his 2026 MLB debut in what will be his first big-league start since the 2021 season. The 36-year-old right-hander has staged an incredible comeback from thoracic outlet syndrome, after he experienced symptoms of the nerve condition back in March while pitching for Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic. He was cleared to resume pitching in minor-league games June 19 and moved into the rotation earlier this month at Syracuse, where he allowed just two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out nine in 7.2 innings between two starts. Stock will now make the jump into the rotation at New York, though his opportunity to stick around with the big club in a starting role beyond Sunday will likely depend on whether at least one of Clay Holmes (fibula) and Freddy Peralta is moved ahead of Monday's trade deadline. Expect Stock to have a limited workload Sunday, as he hasn't thrown more than four innings or 66 pitches in any of his minor-league outings.

The Pirates reinstated Horwitz (concussion/hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Sunday. He'll start at first base and bat fifth for the series finale in Cincinnati.

Horwitz had been on the shelf since June 25 after suffering a left hamstring strain, but he was expected to return from the IL earlier in the week after completing a three-game rehab assignment. However, he sustained a mild concussion in his final minor-league contest July 25, prompting the Pirates to delay his activation until he was no longer exhibiting any symptoms. Now fully cleared, Horwitz should settle back in as the everyday first baseman after slashing .280/.386/.455 with 10 home runs, 36 runs and 33 RBI in 74 games prior to landing on the IL.

Strider (elbow) appears unlikely to pitch again in 2026, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

After landing on the shelf June 13 due to right elbow inflammation, Strider met with Dr. Keith Meister and was prescribed a month of rest. He was expected to be re-evaluated over the All-Star break, but Atlanta hasn't provided a formal update on Strider's progress, and his locker got cleaned out during Atlanta's most recent homestand -- a strong sign that the club isn't expecting the right-hander back over the final two months of the regular season or in the playoffs. Strider labored through eight starts prior to going on the injured list, walking 12.8 percent of the batters he faced while pitching to a 5.31 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across 39 innings.

McCarthy went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a double Saturday against the Royals.

McCarthy helped jumpstart two rallies for the Rockies, doubling in the fourth inning before leading off the eighth inning with a single. He came around to score on each occasion, and he now has nine runs scored across 13 games since the All-Star break. McCarthy has already set career-high marks in home runs (11) and RBI (62), and his 17 stolen bases leave him on the cusp of the fourth 20-steal campaign of his career.

Castro went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored Saturday against the Royals.

Castro popped a home run in the fifth inning, his 12th of the season and third in his last four starts. The 12 long balls matches his career high, which he previously set in 2024 across 635 plate appearances. Castro continues to put together a solid season, racking up 50 runs scored and seven stolen bases across 94 contests.

Karros went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored Saturday against the Royals.

Karros began a four-run rally for Colorado in the third inning with a bases-loaded double. He's begun the Rockies' current homestand hitting well, going 4-for-8 with two RBI and three runs scored across two games. He's maintained a .300 batting average with four homers, 14 RBI and 16 runs scored across 23 games since the start of July.
