Turner went 3-for-5 with a homer, two RBI and an additional run scored in Monday's 3-2 victory over the Marlins.

The Philadelphia shortstop took Miami starter Sandy Alcantara deep on the game's second pitch to notch his 18th career leadoff homer. Turner also tallied another RBI on a single in the seventh to stretch his team's lead to 3-1. The 31-year-old has been carrying the Phillies' offense this month, as he's now batting .328 (19-for-58) with three homers, 13 runs scored, eight RBI and five steals across 14 June games.

Abel (2-0) picked up the win Monday at Miami, allowing one run on three hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out three.

The rookie right-hander had no issues limiting a subpar Marlins offense, completing his five frames in a tidy 77 pitches, 50 of which were strikes. The only blemish on Abel's line came via a Connor Norby single in the second inning. Through his first 20.1 innings, Abel now sports a 2.21 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 17:4 K:BB. His 1.8 BB/9 in the majors so far is especially impressive given that he has pitched at 4.1 BB/9 in 57 innings at Triple-A this season. The 23-year-old lines up to make his next start at home against the Mets this weekend.

Alcantara (3-8) took the loss in Monday's game against the Phillies. He allowed two runs on five hits and one walk over five innings with five strikeouts.

Despite the loss, the Miami right-hander continued his recent string of solid performance in this 100-pitch outing. Alcantara held the Philadelphia lineup in check, as both runs he allowed came on solo homers -- one by Trea Turner in the first and the other by Max Kepler in the fourth. After opening the season with a ghastly 8.47 ERA through 51 innings, Alcantara has been significantly better over his last three starts, pitching to a 2.12 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 15:3 K:BB across 17 innings. He is currently slated to make his next start against Atlanta at home this weekend.

Myers was removed in the fourth inning of Monday's game against the Phillies due to left elbow discomfort, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Myers took a pitch to his left arm from Mick Abel in the second inning. Myers initially stayed in the game, but he went back to the clubhouse for the fourth frame, with Kyle Stowers shifting to center field and Heriberto Hernandez coming into the game in left. The Marlins should provide an update during or shortly after Monday's game once Myers undergoes further testing.

Cuevas was promoted to Triple-A Rochester on Monday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Cuevas has impressed with Double-A Harrisburg this season, posting a 2.10 ERA and 1.13 WHIP with 22 strikeouts while securing eight saves and two holds over 25.2 innings in 24 appearances out of the bullpen. The right-hander is a converted starter, and he may have found his stride as a relief pitcher, now sitting just one step away from the major-league roster.

The Padres optioned Campusano to Triple-A El Paso on Monday.

Campusano had been playing sparingly as an occasional designated hitter against left-handed pitching. He'll cede his spot on the 26-man active roster to outfielder Bryce Johnson, who was called up from El Paso.

The Padres transferred Darvish (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

The transaction won't affect Darvish's timeline for a return, as he's already spent more than two months on the shelf while waiting to make his 2025 debut for the Padres. The right-hander's move to the 60-day IL will clear a spot on the 40-man roster for outfielder Bryce Johnson, whose contract was selected from Triple-A El Paso. Darvish was able to make a rehab start with Triple-A El Paso on May 14, but after he experienced renewed soreness in his elbow coming out of that appearance, he was shut down from throwing for about two weeks. The veteran right-hander has since resumed ramping up again and most recently threw a 40-pitch simulated game Saturday, so he could soon be cleared to head back out on a rehab assignment. Darvish looks to be a candidate to return to the San Diego rotation in late June or early July.

The Padres selected Johnson's contract from Triple-A El Paso on Monday.

He will provide more depth in the outfield while Jackson Merrill (concussion) and Jason Heyward (oblique) are on the injured list. Johnson appeared in 47 games with the Padres last season, slashing only .206/.286/.238.

Thompson (elbow) will begin his rehab assignment with Double-A Harrisburg on Tuesday, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.

Thompson has been cleared to embark on a rehab assignment after his lone outing in the Florida League Complex on Saturday, when he allowed two hits and struck out two batters in one inning. The 27-year-old right-hander is taking the final steps of his recovery from Tommy John surgery in March of 2024. How Thompson's throwing elbow reacts to extended work in Double-A will determine a timeline for his return to the majors.

Hill (wrist) began a hitting progression Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Hill has been shelved for the past three weeks with a sprained left wrist but has been cleared to begin a hitting program. He's likely to require a rehab assignment before rejoining the Marlins, and it's unclear when he might be ready for that.
