The Marlins placed Nardi on the 15-day injured list Saturday, retroactive to Thursday, with a left ribcage stress reaction.

Nardi gave up one run in 1.1 innings and took the loss during his last appearance Wednesday, and he appears to have picked up a rib injury in the process. Marlins manager Clayton McCullough relayed to reporters that Nardi has been battling through the injury for a while, and the IL stint is expected to last "much longer" than the 15-day minimum, per Ely Sussman of Fish on First. The Marlins will bring William Kempner up from Triple-A Jacksonville to round out the bullpen.

France went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in a 7-5 win against Washington on Friday.

France's long ball was a big one, as he tied the game 5-5 with a solo shot in the sixth inning. The veteran infielder is holding down the strong side of a first-base platoon and has given San Diego an offensive boost with a .286/.314/.541 slash line, six homers, 17 RBI and one stolen base through 36 contests. France is again starting at first base while batting seventh Saturday in the second game of the series.

Frelick isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Astros.

Frelick has gone 7-for-33 (.212) with six RBI, three runs and three steals across his last 10 games and will now receive a day off. Jake Bauers will replace him as Milwaukee's right fielder, giving Andrew Vaughn a start at first base.

Rengifo isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against Houston.

Rengifo will retreat to the bench Saturday after going 0-for-4 with a strikeout during Friday's contest. David Hamilton will man the hot corner while Joey Ortiz starts at shortstop.

Sanoja isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.

Sanoja will grab a seat on the bench after going 0-for-5 during Miami's loss in Friday's series opener. His absence will allow Christopher Morel to start at the hot corner while batting eighth.

Norby isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.

Norby will get a breather after going 1-for-5 with three strikeouts during Friday's series opener. Liam Hicks will get the nod at first base Saturday, and Leo Jimenez will serve as the DH.

O'Hearn (quad) is expected to return from the injured list Sunday, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

O'Hearn has been sidelined since May 17 with a strained right quad and wasn't cleared to resume baseball activity until Monday, but a quick recovery will allow him to return to the active roster before the end of the month. The 32-year-old has been enjoying one of the best seasons of his MLB career this year, slashing .289/.368/.459 with seven homers, 29 RBI and 27 runs through 44 games.

Peguero earned a hold in Friday's 8-6 defeat to the Rockies, allowing one hit and striking out one across two-thirds of a scoreless inning.

After giving up two earned runs while recording just one out in Monday's loss to Arizona, Peguero bounced back Friday. The right-hander entered in the sixth inning and surrendered a double to the first batter he faced, though he retired the next two hitters before being pulled. He threw nine of his 13 pitches for strikes in the brief appearance. The 29-year-old now owns a 2.70 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 4:3 K:BB across 10 innings in 10 outings this season.

Chapman went 1-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 8-6 loss to the Rockies.

After going 0-for-9 with three walks in 12 plate appearances over his previous three outings, Chapman reached on a fielder's choice in the fourth inning and came around to score. The veteran third baseman later hit an RBI single in the ninth, driving in San Francisco's final run. He's been streaky in May, slashing .174/.255/.250 with nine runs scored, seven doubles and five RBI across 102 plate appearances during the month.

Fermin isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Nationals.

Fermin is currently stuck in an 0-for-23 stretch at the plate, so the Padres will give him a day to collect himself Saturday while Rodolfo Duran starts at catcher, batting ninth.
