The Pirates optioned Bidois to Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Bidois has had a rough week, yielding five runs (one earned) on three hits and four walks over two innings in two appearances. His spot in the bullpen will be filled by Antwone Kelly.

The Giants optioned Seymour to Triple-A Sacramento on Thursday.

Seymour was tagged for four runs over 1.1 innings in a relief outing Wednesday versus the Nationals. He will likely rejoin the rotation at Sacramento. The Giants will announce a corresponding roster move prior to Friday's contest against the Cubs.

Assad is listed as the Cubs' scheduled starting pitcher for Friday's game in San Francisco.

Assad tossed 6.1 scoreless innings of relief Sunday versus the Giants after entering in place of the injured Jameson Taillon (hamstring). With Taillon now on the injured list and Matthew Boyd (knee/shoulder) recently suffering a setback, Assad should have the opportunity to make multiple starts for the Cubs. He's collected a 4.73 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB over 32.1 innings covering three starts and six relief appearances in 2026.

Crooks went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Mets.

Crooks put the Cardinals ahead 4-3 in the second inning with his 374-foot blast off Christian Scott, his first long ball this season. Since he was called up May 29, Crooks has been part of a committee behind the plate with Ivan Herrera and Pedro Pages, going 4-for-22 (.182) with a .614 OPS across seven games. Crooks appeared in 15 games with St. Louis in 2025, slashing .133/.152/.244 with one home run.

Bichette went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Cardinals.

After going 0-for-8 over the first two games of the series, Bichette put the Mets ahead 2-1 with his first-inning blast off Hunter Dobbins, his sixth homer of the year. Bichette has shown signs of progress at the plate, going 10-for-29 (.345) with a .920 OPS over his last seven games. He's still slashing just .227/.277/.330 with 34 RBI and 31 runs scored across 296 plate appearances this season.

Young went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Cardinals.

Young extended New York's lead to 3-1 in the first inning with a solo homer off Hunter Dobbins, his fourth of the year, before tying the game at 4-4 with an RBI single in the fifth. Since returning from the IL on May 26, Young has gone 12-for-46 (.261) with a .911 OPS while playing nearly every day at first base.

Dobbins did not factor into the decision in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Mets, allowing three runs on seven hits over 4.1 innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.

The Mets got to Dobbins early, scoring three runs on a pair of first-inning homers by Bo Bichette and Jared Young, but the right-hander would manage to settle in and hold New York scoreless over his final 3.1 frames. Dobbins has made two starts and four appearances overall for St. Louis this season, posting a 3.63 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB across 17.1 innings. He would currently line up to face the Padres at home in his next outing, assuming the Cardinals stick with a six-man rotation.

Mangum went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Dodgers.

He started in center field for the fourth consecutive game, filling in for Oneil Cruz (hand). Mangum has gone 5-for-16 with two doubles and a stolen base in that span, though his RBI and run scored Thursday were his first counting stats. Mangum should play nearly every day so long as Cruz is sidelined.

Flores went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, a second RBI and a walk in Thursday's 8-6 loss to the Dodgers.

Flores got the start behind the plate as the Pirates deal with a bit of a crisis at catcher. Endy Rodriguez (hip) was banged up from Wednesday's game, while Henry Davis (paternity) and Joey Bart (foot) were both unavailable. This was just the ninth game of Flores' big-league career, and he delivered a homer in the fifth inning to get Pittsburgh on the board. His stay in the majors is likely to be short, but he could get another game or two before heading back to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Lowe went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Thursday's 8-6 loss to the Dodgers.

Lowe has gone 6-for-33 (.182) over nine games in June, though all six knocks have gone for extra bases (two homers, four doubles). The second baseman helped the Pirates put a dent in a five-run deficit, though they ultimately never caught up. On the year, Lowe is batting .249 with an .858 OPS, 16 homers, 45 RBI, 42 runs scored, 16 doubles and a triple over 63 contests. He has yet to attempt a stolen base, but he's on pace to reach the 30-homer mark for the second year in a row and the third time in his career.
