Hamilton is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

The left-handed-hitting Hamilton will hit the bench for the second time in the series while the Yankees send another southpaw (Carlos Rodon) to the hill. Joey Ortiz will step in for Hamilton at shortstop and will bat ninth.

Bauers is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

Bauers will hit the bench for the second time in the series while the Yankees send another left-hander to the bump in Carlos Rodon. Though Bauers has been a full-time player for most of the season, his exposure to same-handed pitching could become limited after the Brewers welcomed back two lineup regulars in Andrew Vaughn and Jackson Chourio.

The Giants recalled Smith from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.

The right-hander was acquired from the Tigers in late March and will now get his first look with the Giants. Smith had a 1.38 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 4:5 K:BB over seven appearances in his first taste of the big leagues last year, and he's given up just three earned runs with 15 strikeouts across 12.2 innings to begin this season at Sacramento.

The Giants reinstated Hentges (knee/shoulder) from the 15-day injured list Sunday.

The left-hander hasn't pitched in the majors since 2024 with Cleveland, as he underwent shoulder surgery late that year and knee surgery in August 2025. Hentges recorded 32 holds with a 2.93 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 155:42 K:BB across 138 innings from 2022-24 with the Guardians and could eventually fill a high-leverage role in an unsettled San Francisco bullpen.

Lowe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.

Lowe will hit the bench for the series finale after going 1-for-7 with three strikeouts as the Reds' designated hitter during the first two games against Houston. Sal Stewart will get a day off from playing the field but will stay in the lineup Sunday as Lowe's replacement at DH.

The Giants optioned Walker to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Giants manager Tony Vitello has yet to settle on a full-time closer, but Walker took himself out of consideration for save chances after a string of poor performances. Over his last four appearances, the right-hander blew two saves and gave up seven earned runs on nine hits and four walks over 3.1 innings, inflating his ERA to 6.46 and his WHIP to 1.89 on the season. Walker will be sent to Triple-A for a reset, and if he's able to rediscover the form he showed in his 2024 breakout, he may not have to wait long for a call-up.

Frelick is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

The 26-year-old started the previous eight games, including three against left-handed starting pitchers, but Frelick will head to the bench Sunday as southpaw Carlos Rodon (shoulder) makes his season debut for New York. Frelick struggled to a .226/.273/.323 slash line during that eight-game stretch and has yet to get on track at the plate this year with a .616 OPS through 36 games.

Susac (elbow) went 2-for-4 in Triple-A Sacramento's 2-1 loss to Reno on Friday.

Susac made his second rehab appearance in as many days, logging multiple hits in both contests. The 24-year-old catcher singled twice Friday and has gone 5-for-8 with three RBI and two long balls across eight plate appearances with Triple-A Sacramento. With Patrick Bailey now in Cleveland, Susac will likely step into a sizable role once he's reinstated from the injured list.

Haase went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Saturday's 13-3 loss to the Pirates.

After the Giants traded Patrick Bailey to the Guardians earlier in the day, Haase got the starting nod at catcher Saturday. The veteran hit an RBI single in the ninth inning and is now slashing .286/.286/.429 with two runs scored and two RBI across 14 plate appearances this season. Until Daniel Susac (elbow) returns, Haase and Jesus Rodriguez will split playing time behind the plate.

Johnston is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.

With southpaw Cristopher Sanchez on the bump for Philadelphia, the Rockies will stock up on right-handed bats in the lineup, with Johnston joining fellow left-handed hitters Edouard Julien, TJ Rumfield and Brett Sullivan on the bench. Jordan Beck will receive the nod in right field.
